❤️Full Title: How To: Resolve A Fight Even Though Your Feelings Are Still Hurt (sequel to The Anakin Skywalker Crash Course on Being Married)

🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️

Summary: Obi-Wan’s still watching him so closely Anakin worries he’ll read his mind if he doesn’t distract him, so he says the next best thing he can come up with. “Okay, it hurt me. It’s true. But we’re not in love, Obi-Wan.”

Obi-Wan looks down quickly, suddenly remembering the bowl of grain and fruit he’d been eating before Anakin had arrived. “No,” he agrees in a blank voice, “of course not.”

Despite what he’d expected the moment he’d ran from the confrontation, Anakin has to face Obi-Wan again as early as the next morning.

Mostly because he is hungry and doesn’t feel like missing breakfast, but also because he’s so unnerved by the thought of having ruined their marriage that he can’t stand the thought of not seeing him as soon as possible.

At one point in the middle of the night, he’d gotten out of bed to go and talk to his husband right this instant, only to turn around after a few minutes, because the only thing that seemed worse to him than not seeing Obi-Wan had been seeing Obi-Wan in bed with another person.

So he’s going to go to breakfast and put on a brave face. No matter how badly he wants to be mad at Obi-Wan, or to cry, or maybe shake the man until he changes his mind and falls in love with Anakin. Doesn’t Obi-Wan see how convenient that would be? They’re already married, for kriffs sake!

His stomach, emptier than usual since he’s missed dinner, growls.

With a sigh, he braces himself and pulls open the large door that leads to the balcony Obi-Wan and him prefer to have breakfast on.

His husband is already there, and looks up at him with a spoon halfway on it’s way to his open mouth.

Anger flares up in him, because how dare Obi-Wan start eating without him, especially when Anakin is so hungry, and why is his mouth so red, and - but he tries to fight it down.

At least Obi-Wan looks like he’s been caught (again) so he must know that he’s done something to offend Anakin (again).

He drops the spoon and hurriedly stands up in greeting.

He tries to ignore the signs of sleeplessness that his husband displays, because they must mean he’s spent an extra-long evening with his affair.

Anakin does not think about that, and he does not taste bile in his mouth from the thought.

“Anakin,” Obi-Wan begins while Anakin lets himself fall into his designated chair. “I’m sorry, I already began eating, but I-“ The man sits down as well, “Well, I guess I just didn’t expect you to join me for breakfast today.”

“Would you rather see me starve?” Anakin mumbles bitterly before he can stop himself.

He clenches his jaw at his quick mouth, but can’t help but look at Obi-Wan to see how he takes it. If he’s honest with himself, he’s half afraid his husband won’t take it, won’t want to put up with Anakin any longer, now that he has a lover he’s actually interested in. Or maybe now that Anakin knows of her, if they’ve been together for longer.

Obi-Wan’s reaction doesn’t exactly make Anakin feel better.

The only reaction he sees at all is a short display or irritation and then a hurt expression that makes his usually so calm and soft looking face tense. It’s not his best look.
