CHAPTER 103

Daniella “Dani” POV

I wake up bright and early the next morning. Today is judging day! It’s the day we need to present our sculpture project to the judges.

I smooth down my outfit and take one last look at myself in the mirror. Palabas na sana ako ng pumasok si Dilim sa kwarto ko.

“You look nice. Are you ready for today?” tanong nito na kinatango ko.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” sabi ko at niyakap niya ako.

“You’re going to be great today, don‘t worry! Good luck.”

“Thank you!” sabi ko saka ito hinalikan sa pisngi niya, hindi na niya ako maihahatid kasi kailangan nadin nitong magayos para sa pagpasok at baka malate pa siya kung idadaan pa niya ako.

I walk into the meeting room with a smile on my face, and then napalingon ako kay Ken na seryoso lang na nakatayo, at ganon din ang ibang kalahok sa project na ito.

“Good morning Daniella.” bati saakin ni Professor Stanley.

Ngumiti naman ako. “Good morning din po.” pagkabati ko noon ay siya namang dating ng iba pang judges kaya nagpaalam na ito saakin at lumapit na ako sa tabi ni Ken.

Umakyat naman agad si Professor sa maliit na stage saka ito tumingin saaming mga estudyante niya. “Welcome everyone. Thank you for joining us this morning. We would like one person from each partnership to come up here and explain your work to the judges.” sabi nito at nagkatinginan naman kami ni Ken, at kahit ang iba ay nagtuturuan na kung sino ba sakanila ang aakyat, pero ibahin mo kami ni Ken dahil nagaagawan pa kami.

“Ako na!” sabi ko.

“Ako na sabi!” mariin na sabi ni Ken.

“Sabing ako na nga eh.” sabi ko saka tumayo at pinandidilatan ito ng beautiful eyes ko.

Agad kong itinaas ang kamay ko bago pa man magawa ni Ken ’yon, at mahahalata mong pikon nanaman ito saakin. Parang gusto ko ngang sumayaw sa tuwa sa pagtawag ni Professor sa pangalan ko.

“Come on up here Daniella!” agad na nga akong naglakad papunta sa stage habang taas noo, chariss.

“Good morning. Thank you for letting me present our idea to you. As you can see, our design not only expresses the unique charm of Philippines, a city that embraces multiple cultures and ethnicities. It also has a warm and inviting concept that the Library offers, where everyone is equal in terms of knowledge and books. Where everyone who visits has access to them for free.” sabi ko at umayos naman ang upo ang isang judges saka nagsalita.

“While the idea is great, I do feel as though it’s a little old school.” sabi ng lalaking judges, nagtaas naman ng kamay ang babaeng katabi nito.

“May I ask you a question?” sabi nito at tumango ako.

“Of course.” sagot ko.

“Can you tell us what is the most unique point of this design?” tanong nito at tumango ako.

“The most unique point would have to be the materials.” sagot ko.

“How so?” tanong pa uli niya.

“We not only use eco-friendly sculpting materials, but we also use a unique nano-coating that changes color with the temperature. As well as being eco-friendly, the sculpture follows nature, bringing it to life in front of your very eyes. It’s more than just an object. It would be a huge talking point in an incredible place where many people pass day in, day out.” sabi ko at ngumiti naman ang babaing judges saakin.

“Thank you very much for answering my question. You made an excellent presentation.” sabi nito at ngumiti naman ako.

“Thank you so much. I’m glad I could answer. Are there anymore question?” All the judges shake their heads with a smile as I return the friendly gesture.
