CHAPTER - XVIII
⚘ 𝐴𝑈𝑇𝐻𝑂𝑅 ⚘
Yuvika was brought back from flashback by Amit, who pinched her so hard that she jumped in her place, shrieking loudly, which in turn surprised everyone since all of their eyes were on her since the moment she stepped into the garden. Amit grinned, innocently whilst Yuvika rubbed her arm and glared at her cousin, who was looking like anything but a culprit.
"Humein ghurna band ki jiye, mohtarma, apne charo taraf dekhiye, sabki nigaahein aap par tiki hui hai." Amit teased his little sister.
(Stop glaring at me, madam! Look around you, everyone's eyes are stuck at you.)
Yuvika flinched back and gulped before nervously looking around and yeah, indeed everyone's eyes were stuck at her. She felt like the earth should swallow her and thanks to both her cousin and fiancé, who are to blame for the distress she was facing at the moment.
Awkwardly smiling at everyone, Yuvika once again glared at her cousin, who made an apologising face.
"Yuvika!" Someone called her and turning to face the person, Yuvika found her father, "Are you alright?"
"Then let's go! It's time for your mehndi." Shalini and Nandini led Yuvika to the platform and sat her down on the couch before waving Rudra over, who nodded and approached the women.
"Yes, mom!"
"Yuvika ke saath betho yahan, Rudra! Apne business associates se baad mein baat kar lena." Shalini said.

Rudra nodded and approached Yuvika, who was looking at him. He stopped in front of her and bent down, cupping her face before pecking her on the forehead. The ladies almost awed but Then Rudra sat beside her and leaned in to whisper in her right ear.
"You look beautiful tonight."
Yuvika looked at him, surprised but soon a delicate yet small smile spread across her lips.
"Only tonight?" Yuvika asked, teasingly.
Rudra narrowed his eyes at her direction but soon realised the tease behind her words and shook his head. Watching their cute interaction, Shalini and Nandini smiled at each other and ushered the girls to the platform alongside the mehndi artists. The girls, who were mostly the bride and groom's cousins and friends, circled the couch and the mehndi artists, hired for the bride, took their place beside Yuvika.
