The sun was ready to set and I was huddled up in my room, waiting for Rudraksh to return from his meeting with Papa and Amit bhaiya, who are going to give them some advice for the project. Whilst in the meantime, I baked some cupcakes today after coming back from work because I was restless and wasn't in my element.
Right now, I was browsing the internet for some possible solutions which would be helpful with the project. I sighed, my mind going back to the conversation I had with Tanya and Kiaan just a few hours ago. There is a party this weekend, a get-together to be exact with old friends from school. The party aka get-together isn't a problem, the problem is taking a plus one with you to there. And as the whole country- world knows that I have knotted the tie to Rudraksh Agnihotri, so he would be my most probable and expected plus one in the party.
My friends have got a way to show their affection, which I'm sure Rudraksh wouldn't approve of since I've seen the way he behaved just because the employees of his office couldn't take their eyes off me on that meeting day. I shuddered remembering the passionate kiss we shared in his cabin after the meeting. His short temper and aggressive nature is the sole reason and I surely don't want him to thrash one of my friends black and blue.
I sighed keeping the laptop on the mattress as I got up from my sitting position. Taking the claw clip off my hair, I left the hair down as my steps led me to the balcony. Stretching my hands on the railing, I looked around the vast property of the Agnihotri villa. My eyes went to the ring in my hand, which was shining under the setting sun. The ring reminded me of our special days together. Our first meet, first date, engagement & wedding. When I fell in love with him, I was very optimistic about making him fall in love with me and it's not like I've given up now or something, it's just the goal seems a little harder than before.
I stepped back and laid down on the macrame swing bed, leaving the dupatta over my upper body. I was wearing an anarkali set because I felt like wearing something ethnic today. I even put on a stone bindi and some natural makeup after showering again. I don't know why but I felt like dressing-up after work today and I didn't see any harm in it. After all, a girl gotta do what her heart says, ain't it!
I laid there for God knows how long, playing with the beads of my mangalsutra, lost in thoughts until I felt a soft caress on my head and turned my head back to find Papa there. My lips widened into a smile and I got up in an instant.
"Papa!" I exclaimed in joy as I got down from the swing bed and rushed to hug him who chuckled, taking me in his embrace, "When did you arrive?"
"Just some moments ago. I came with Rudra." He said.
I pulled back and looked around the room, Rudraksh wasn't here. I looked back at Papa in confusion, "You did? Where is he?"
"Oh, he is downstairs in the study, discussing business with Shiv and his grandfather. I will be joining them shortly. I just came to give you these." He said, forwarding a plastic container into my hands, "Your favourite jalebi."
