ᑕᕼᗩᑭTᗴᖇ - I

The bell above the door chimed, grabbing Elaine's attention, who was working behind the counter.

"Bonjour, Madame! So you finally got the time to visiter, huh?" Elaine remarked with sarcasm, clear evident in her broken English and French accent.

(Visiter - visit)

I bit my tongue, approaching her whilst fisting my gloved hands which were tucked inside my beige overcoat.

"Je suis désolé, Eli! Mon père was here and he wanted to spend some days avec moi. Et I couldn't deny. Je suis désolé, s'il vous plaît." I made the best puppy face I could and hoped she would melt.

(Je suis désolé - I'm sorry.
Mon père - My father.
Avec moi - with me.
Et - and.
S'il vous plaît - please.)

And she did!

Elaine Schweitzer, a twenty-nine year old French woman, is my best friend in France. She owns a fancy pastry boutique by the Seine river and she herself makes the best pastries in the whole of France, at least that's what I believe. Most of the baked goods are made by her and the rest are done with the help of her boyfriend, Jared, a thirty-one year old English man and some other helpers which also includes me. Even though I help occasionally.

Elaine cooed, wiping her hands with a washcloth before walking around the counter and in front of me. Taking my cheeks in her fingers, she squeezed the living shit out of them, causing me to shriek because her hands were freezing cold.

"Mon dieu!" I swatted her hands away with my gloved ones, finally bringing them out of the cocoon, "You are cold like a, uh- um a dead body. Yes, dead body." I looked at her with accusatory eyes.

(Mon dieu - My God!)

She rolled her eyes, before stuffing her freezing cold hands into her apron pockets.

"Such a petite fille you are!"

(Petite fille - little girl)

I rolled my eyes before grabbing a seat that was close to the counter.

"Little girl or not, it's super cold out there and I don't wanna freeze to death. Atleast not with the virgin tag." I grumbled, looking out of the window, which displayed a great view of the city of Paris.

Paris! Brimming with history and romance, Paris has a special magic that is discovered by wandering its riverside pathways, mediaeval cobblestone streets and graceful tree-lined boulevards. Amazing cultural attractions inspire even the most jaded world travellers. The musée de Louvre dazzles visitors with its astounding assortments of masterpieces and the Tour Eiffel delivers truly breathtaking views.
