After dinner, I wished Papa good and then went back to my room. I was doing my night skincare routine in front of the full height mirror when my phone rang and left the bottle of moisturiser on the table to check who was calling me this late.

I looked at the mobile screen and found an unknown number. I was just about to pick it up when the call ended. So shrugging, I put the phone away. I mean, it was an unknown number and if the person had something important to talk to, he would call back again. That's what my motto is, for the unknown calls.

My eyes fell on the photo frame on the nightstand beside my phone. It was a portrait of my mumma and me. It's a photo of mumma and me where she was holding me in her arms and I was, um, maybe five years, I guess. The way she was looking down at me in her arms with so much love in her eyes, it almost made my eyes well.

Sitting down on the bed, I grabbed the photo frame and smiled, caressing mumma's picture, "I miss you, Mumma! I miss you so much

Sitting down on the bed, I grabbed the photo frame and smiled, caressing mumma's picture, "I miss you, Mumma! I miss you so much."

"You didn't even let me say goodbye. You left so early." I complained, looking at the picture, "You know what?" I grinned, wiping my tears away, "your daughter is getting married and I know you would have been very happy if you were here. About your daamad, well, Papa approves of him and I know you would have as well."

(Daamad - Son-in-law)

I put the frame back on the nightstand after wishing mumma good night and placing a kiss on her picture. On the other nightstand, I have a picture of me and Papa. And just above the headboard of the bed, it was a huge portrait of Papa, Mumma and me.

Smiling slightly, I laid down on the bed and in no time, I was out like a light.

Five days! That's all that is left for my wedding and the jitters running through every part of my body wouldn't let me sit at a place calmly. Today I've had my appointment fixed by Shalini aunty with one of the best designers of the country for my wedding dress selection.
