I was wrapped in the warm cocoon of sleep when I felt a gentle shake on my shoulder. Groggily, I blinked my eyes open to find Rudra leaning over me, a soft smile on his face.

"Morning, sleepyhead," he said, his voice a low murmur.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned, slowly waking up. "Morning. What time is it?"

"It's early. I have a meeting at AGCs and need to leave soon," he replied, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.

The realisation that he had to leave tugged at my heart. I wanted to savour every moment with him, even if it was just a few more minutes. "Okay," I said softly, trying to hide my disappointment.

Rudra's eyes softened as he looked at me. There was an intensity in his gaze that made my breath hitch. He reached out and cupped my cheek, his thumb gently stroking my skin.

"I wanted to say goodbye before I left," he said, his voice tender.

I nodded, feeling a strange mix of emotions. The memory of our first kiss was still fresh, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves. As if sensing my thoughts, Rudra leaned in, his lips just a breath away from mine.

My heart raced, and I froze, unsure of what to do. His eyes searched mine, seeking permission. In that moment, I realised how much I trusted him, how much I wanted this.

He closed the gap, his lips brushing softly against mine. It was gentle and tentative, a promise of something more. I felt a surge of warmth, my initial hesitation melting away. The kiss deepened slightly, and I found myself responding, my hands resting on his shoulders for support. All too soon, he pulled back, his forehead resting against mine. We were both breathing a little faster, the room charged with unspoken feelings.

"I have to go," he murmured, his voice husky.

I nodded, unable to find the words. "Drive safe," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He smiled, his thumb tracing my lower lip. "Always."

With one last lingering look, he stood up and gathered his things. I watched him, my heart full of emotions I couldn't yet name. As he reached the door, he turned back, giving me a reassuring smile.

"I'll see you later," he said, his voice filled with warmth.

"Yeah." I replied, my voice stronger now.

As the door closed behind him, I laid back on the bed, a smile playing on my lips. The morning had started with a gentle yet profound connection, a reminder of the deep bond we were beginning to share. Even though he had to leave, the memory of his touch and his kiss lingered, wrapping me in a warmth that would carry me through the day.
