"Bhabhi!" I heard someone calling me down the stairs and turned my eyes away from Rudra's bedroom door to find Mithali at the end of the stairs.

"Huh! Yeah?" I asked, walking down the stairs.

"Are you fine? I called you for so many times but you didn't answer. Where were you looking?" She asked.

"Oh actually I-I thought I saw something there, in the hallway." I lied.

Because now, I can't tell how her bhabhi was so lost in his bhai and his compliments that she couldn't even hear someone calling her name.

"Something, like what?" She inquired, frowning.

"Uh-I-I don't know." I shook my head, "Let's forget about that. Aren't we getting late for the Puja?" I asked, now noticing her traditional outfit.

"Oh, yes! I totally forgot about that. Let's go bhabhi?" She asked.

"Yeah, let's go." I nodded and we both walked towards the Puja place which was just beside the dining room.

As expected Dada ji and Dadi ji were already there, waiting to do the Puja as Dadi made the Puja plate, putting all the important things there like vermilion, turmeric, a diya, fresh flowers, sandalwood paste and some kaju katli as the offering to God. Dada ji is a very firm believer of Goddess Durga and so was his father. He says it was the Goddess who helped his father in building the Agnihotri empire and its success was all her blessings.

Whilst everyone of the family were the biggest believers of Goddess Durga, Rudra was a huge worshipper of Lord Shiva as well. On every Mahashivratri, he visits one of the twelve jyotirlingas of India. Like last year, he went to Grishneshwar jyotirlinga, in Maharashtra. He usually does the abhishek of the lingam and distributes prasad alongside clothes and some money among the poor. And of course, he keeps a fast for the whole day. He meditates on the day chanting the 'om namah shivay' mantra, wearing traditionals.

"Good morning, Dada ji." Mithali and I both wished him who nodded with a smile, patting our heads.

"Dirghayu bhava!" He blessed us.

(God bless you with longevity.)

"Good morning, Dadi!" We sighed Dadi.

"Good morning, bachchon." She nodded.

(Children)

After everything for the Puja was ready, Dada ji took the plate from Dadi and started the Puja, chanting some mantras. Dadi, Mithali and I stood behind him with our hands joined together in front of the idol of the deity. The Puja was simple and quick, nothing extravagant. So after the aarti, Dada ji gave us some prasad and then we were off to have breakfast.
