As the evening progressed, the music gently shifted to a classic, timeless tune— one that invited couples to the dance floor for a slow, romantic waltz. The soft melody of an English love song filled the room, creating a peaceful yet enchanting atmosphere. The lights dimmed further, casting a warm glow that seemed to wrap everyone in the tender embrace of the moment.
Rudraksh, standing beside me, offered his hand with that familiar, quiet intensity in his eyes. "Shall we?" His voice was soft, but the look in his eyes made my heart flutter. I smiled, placing my hand in his and nodded.
As we moved to the centre of the dance floor, a few other couples joined us. The mood had shifted from playful and festive to something much more intimate. With one gentle, confident motion, Rudraksh wrapped his arm around my waist, drawing me close. My hand rested on his shoulder as his other hand intertwined with mine. The warmth of his touch spread through me, soothing yet stirring emotions that only he could evoke. The melody guided our steps, slow and graceful. The soft, heartfelt lyrics filled the air, making everything else seem to fade into the background. It felt like we were the only two people in the room, moving in perfect harmony with the music. The gentle sway of our bodies was synchronised, every step a quiet reflection of the deep bond we are forming.
Rudraksh’s gaze remained locked on mine, a small, almost imperceptible smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “This is perfect,” he murmured, his voice just loud enough for me to hear above the music.
I felt my cheeks warm as I smiled back, resting my head lightly on his shoulder. "It really is."
We danced in silence for a few moments, letting the soothing rhythm carry us away. The lyrics spoke of love, devotion, and timeless connections— fitting words for the emotions swirling inside me. The world outside the dance floor disappeared; it was just us, caught in this tender moment of togetherness. Rudraksh’s grip on my waist tightened ever so slightly, pulling me closer. I could feel the rise and fall of his breath, steady and calm, and the subtle beating of his heart against my cheek. We moved in unison, effortlessly gliding across the floor. His presence felt safe, warm, and grounding— a feeling I had come to treasure more than anything.
After a few spins and gentle sways, Rudraksh spoke again, his tone even softer now. “Thank you for tonight. For everything. The surprise, the cake.. Everything.”
I looked up at him, meeting his gaze once more. "I’m glad you liked it," I whispered, my voice tender. “It was worth every bit of effort, just to see you happy. Especially on your day.”
He gave a soft chuckle, his eyes twinkling with affection. “Happy— that would be an understatement.”
As we continued to waltz, I couldn’t help but feel the depth of the moment. There was something undeniably romantic about dancing to a timeless love song, surrounded by the gentle hum of the guests, yet feeling as though we were in our own little world. It was a kind of peace that only came when I was with him— when everything else seemed to melt away, leaving just the two of us, dancing to the rhythm of love.
