As I prepared for my sudden trip to Paris, a mix of excitement and nervousness swirled within me. Elaine's news about her pregnancy was such a wonderful surprise, and I couldn't wait to be by her side during this special time. Yet, the thought of leaving Rudraksh, even for a few days, tugged at my heart.

I moved around our walk-in closet, carefully choosing outfits for the trip. Paris in the spring called for chic yet comfortable clothes, so I picked out cashmere sweaters, tailored coats, and a few elegant dresses. As I folded each piece and placed it neatly in my suitcase, the joy of being with Ellie and Jared during this exciting time filled me with anticipation, but I also felt a pang of nervousness—being away from Rudraksh , especially at this time, wasn't going to be easy.

After packing my clothes, I went to the vanity to gather my skincare essentials and makeup. I knew the long flight would be tiring, and I wanted to arrive looking my best. As I zipped up my toiletry bag, my eyes caught the small bottle of perfume on the counter—the one Rudraksh always said he loved on me. Smiling, I added it to the bag, knowing it would remind me of him while I was in Paris. Next, I moved to the small study area in our room and started gathering some documents and my laptop. Even though this trip was personal, I wanted to be prepared in case anything work-related came up. Rudraksh had told me not to worry about work, but I liked to have everything in order, just in case.

As I was closing the laptop and sliding it into my sleek leather bag, I noticed a small envelope on the desk with my name written in Rudraksh’s handwriting. Curious, I opened it and found a short note inside:

“Yuvika,
You’re going to make this trip unforgettable for Elaine and Jared. Don’t worry about anything here— just enjoy your time with them. I’ll miss you, but I know how much this means to you.
P.S. Bring me back those macarons we talked about.”
— Rudraksh

Reading his words made my heart swell with love. I carefully folded the note and placed it in my handbag, wanting to keep it close to me during the trip. With my bags packed and everything in order, I took one last look around the room. I was ready— excited, a little anxious, but mostly filled with anticipation for the days ahead. Just as I zipped up my suitcase, the door opened. I turned to see Rudraksh leaning against the doorframe, watching me with a soft smile.

“Ready?” he asked, his voice warm and affectionate.

“Almost,” I replied, smiling back at him. “Just need to do a final check.”

Rudraksh walked over and wrapped his arms around my waist. “You’re going to have an amazing time,” he said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “And I’ll be right here when you get back.”

I leaned into him, feeling my nerves ease with his reassuring words. “I know. And I’ll miss you every day.”

“I’ll miss you too,” he whispered, holding me close for a moment before letting go. After sharing a few more tender moments together, I finally closed my suitcase. With one last kiss, Rudraksh helped me carry my luggage downstairs, where our driver was waiting to take me to the private airport.
