Adopted by R5 - My story

Chapter 8- Rehearsal

I went in the basement where the rest of R5 was getting ready to rehearse. They welcomed me smiling and I suddenly became really shy, I was insecure about my skills. They asked me which was my favourite R5 song and I quietly said
"Actually... It is 'My confession' but you never play it". Which is true, it is an amazing song but it looks like they underestimate it.
They were surprised, and Ell told me that he thought it was a really good song, too, and that they were actually planning on performing it a few times in the following tour.
We decided to play it and after we were done Riker exclaimed

"Woah, you were great! I never heard someone your age play like that"

I blushed and thanked him. The fact that I had just played with my favourite band was sending me chills through my spine, I could never imagine something like this could happen.

"You are really good, and I bet you can sing well, too." said Ross.

"Actually, I don't sing much". I was insecure about my voice and used to sing only with Connor. He made me feel free and happy, with no self-esteem issues.

We all went upstairs in the living room and we saw it was raining again. The boys wanted to watch a movie and I agreed. However I saw my wrists were now quite exposed because I took off all my bracelets to play guitar more confortably, so I lied telling I was cold and changed into a long-sleeved shirt.

Now that I was feeling more secure, I layed down with my new siblings and watched "Mean Girls" which, by the way, used to be Connor's favourite movie.

Only now I was realising how often I thought of him during the day, and how even the smallest detail made me think of him. But now I had to move on, I had another family which made me really happy.

As the movie finished, it was 6pm and the boys wanted to eat at Taco Bell, which was pretty far from our house but worth the journey. I didn't really want to go out, it was one of those days when you just want to chill at home but not wanting to sound like a freak, I stayed silent.

"Guys, I don't really want to go out. I'm just going to stay here and order some pizza" Riker said.

Thank you Riker, you saved me.

"Actually, I'd rather stay home, too, if that's okay" I added quietly. They all nodded and went outside to the car.

Now it was just me and Riker. He was already ordering a large pizza to share with me. I started setting the table up and after having watched half episode of Modern Family, the delivery guy arrived and we started eating.

It was a really nice pizza, I have to say. We laughed and joked during dinner and after having finished the last slice we stayed there still talking.

Suddenly I noticed that my sleeve had slid down a bit so that my wrist was showing. I hurried to put it back in place and Riker must have noticed my worried eyes.

"What was that?"
