I woke up relatively early (8am), so I had plenty of time before Michael had to pick me up.
I decided to do a crazy thing: look for Connor on the Internet.
I did so only once since we lost eachother, because 1) it is absurdly crazy and 2) I got too frustrated from not finding anything useful.
I switched my laptop, which I had barely used before, on and opened the Google page.
I took a deep breath and started typing 'connor' in, then stopped. Last time I didn't find anything putting his real surname, the one he had when he was adopted by my family.
I decided to try again though, so I added 'lightwood' in the search bar.
I waited for the results nervously tapping on the desk.
What came on screen was surprising and expected at the same time: a rather large number of titles talking about my brother.
School projects, sport competitions, debate clubs, prizes won at school, but nothing about his life after our runaway.
I looked through all the Facebook profiles with his name but a recent photo of him never popped out.
It was now confirmed for the second time: he had changed his surname.
Now came the awful part, because finding a Connor in the wide USA was pretty much impossible.
I didn't know the name of the community where they had put him, neither the name of the college he was probably attending now.
It was almost funny how little I knew about someone who meant so much to me.
I could write a book about the weird relationship between him and spiders (one moment he made philosophical observations about the strange nature of these animals but then screamed like a little girl whenever the previously worshipped spider moved) or his crazy ability in multitasking, but when it came to find him on the Internet, it almost looked like I didn't know him at all.
But what would happen if I actually found him? Would he be so desperate to see me again, too?
These questions were scary and too negative for the awesome day I was about to live, so I closed my laptop and started to get ready.
Michael said he had to give me my present and I couldn't be more excited.
I got ready and decided to skip breakfast, since Michael and I would be having lunch in a few hours.
It was now 10:30 so I exited my room to go look for the others.
"Morning sleepy head! You're already dressed up!" Said Rocky while eating his cereal.
"Are you joining us?" Asked Stormie while putting away her cup and spoon.
"No, I'm not hungry, thanks though"
"Alright. You going somewhere?" She asked.
"Actually yes, I'm going out with Michael in half an hour"
"Cute" was all she said smiling motherly.
"Anyway where's Riker? " I asked.
"He went out with Titus" answered Ross, "he wanted to greet you but you were sleeping".
You mean looking for my brother not finding anything.
"Oh ok, doesn't matter"
I then received a text:Mickey:
'I'm a bit early. No hurry whatsoever'
'Good, I'm ready anyway :)'
'Ok, I'm pulling over the driveway'I said goodbye to everyone and went outside where my boyfriend was waiting for me.
"Hii" he greeted.
"Hello Gordon" I teased entering the car.
"I still have to give you your present, remember that, young lady"
I fake pouted and he laughed.
"Where are we going?"
"Our secret hideout"
"The hill?"
He nodded and turned his head to the road.
He drove for a good twenty minutes then stopped. We got on top of the hill then we sat in the same spot where we had our first kiss.
We had arrived.
