Chapter 39- I'm trying to be romantic

"It's beautiful even without the sunset, don't you think? " I commented.
" Yep. Never would I imagine I would be here one day "
" Me neither " I admitted.
" And with such a beautiful girl " he smirked dorkily.
" Aw stop it! " I giggled.
" Does the beautiful girl not want her birthday present? "
"I do!" I giggled childishly.
" Alright ".
He started fumbling with his pocket and pulled out a tiny box.
There was a small bow ribbon which wasn't anything near acceptable, so I assumed he made it himself. What a cutie.
I carefully untied it and opened the box. There was a necklace: it had a small locket.
I pulled the necklace out and opened the locket. Inside there was a small photo of Michael and I, which we took a few days before.
"Oh my god Michael, thank you. It's extremely beautiful... and you're a complete cutie"
He just smiled and gave me a light peck.
"Happy late birthday Hailie"
He then added, "I didn't give this to you yesterday because I wanted it to be more.... private"
"That's what she said" I whispered giggling quietly but apparently he heard.
"Hey, I'm trying to be romantic here!" He protested giggling.
"Sorry just... The way you said it" I was now laughing out loud and the tickles he started giving me weren't helping me stopping.
"Okay, okay s-stop" I stuttered crying from all the laughing.
"As you wish" he said dorkily, stopping.
We remained a bit in silence.
"I'm hungry" I stated.
"Me, too" he said looking at his watch, "and it's midday"
We stood up and climbed down the hill. As we were back on the flat land, I smirked.
"Race you to the car!" I yelled starting to run. Michael was just behind me but I won.
I entered the car.
"You made me win"
"Maybe"
"But it's not fair! I want real competition" I fake whined.
He shook his head laughing and started the car.
"Where do you want to go?"
"Dunno" I shrugged.
"Today Ashton is cooking lunch. If you want to witness food poisoning then we can go home and eat with the boys"
"Oh my god yes! It'll be fun"
"Alright, but when we'll go to the hospital you'll explain the doctors what happened. It'd be embarrassing."
"Deal" I rolled my eyes.
I then received a text from Riker

'You coming for lunch?'
'No I'm going over to the boys''
'Oh ok have fun... not too much though'
'Ahahah yes Riker chill'
'Alright bye'
'Byee'

"Who was it?" Asked Michael.
"Riker asking me if I was coming back for lunch"
"But instead you chose food poisoning"
"Oh my god Michael it can't be that bad!"
"You'll see"

Michael opened the door to his house and yelled,
"Guysss we have a guesttt"
"Fucķ I'm still getting dressed" We heard Calum say under his breath.
I must admit that the boys' house was neater than expected, but it still needed someone to tidy it up a bit.
We went into the kitchen and we saw Ashton happily cooking.
"You bragged about my cooking skills uh?" He asked Michael dorkily.
"Whatever Ash" said my boyfriend laughing.
"What are we having?" I asked.
"Some awesome steak Luke got at the supermarket" responded Ashton looking focused on the steak he was cooking.
"Try not to burn anything or I'm getting dumped" said warningly Michael.
"Chill Michael, I won't mess this up"
"Yeah right" he laughed.
"If you don't stop I'll burn yours"
Michael raised his hands in surrender and shook his head in my direction.
This is going to be fun.
