Days passed and I somehow learnt to deal with Michael's absence. Not that I wasn't still upset, of course, but the weight on my heart had lightened a bit. And there still was Connor, as usual, so I couldn't focus on both losses (if you can call 'focus' missing someone).
The Lynches did anything to cheer me up, which usually worked: Ryland would find any excuse to ask for my help to pull a prank on the others because "he needed an assistant since his evil side had troubles showing up, lately"; Ross would offer to teach me how to play a song everytime he saw me listening to music; the others just acted nicer than usual (no sassy replies or friendly insults).
There also was an ongoing silent fight between Rocky and Ryland because guess what? There really were racoons trashing the porch (Riker saw one). So now Ryry was mad at his brown-haired brother for not believing him.
I had started online school which was enough to keep me busy most of the time, and that added to music didn't leave me much free time to wander around thinking about my pitiful life while 5sos were having fun on the other side of the world. Without me.
I was also busy with trying to get my driver's license, which turned out to be way more complicated than expected. Maybe because English wasn't my mother tongue, or because cars have an enormous number of parts, I couldn't memorise them for the written test. Mark or Riker would try to help me and luckily the end of every 'private lesson' I had learnt some more.

"You have to put a G"
"No, Ross, a D"
"Are you crazy? That doesn't sound good at all Rocky!"
"HAILIE!" Yelled both the boys from the basement.
"What?" I asked peeking from the stairs.
"This dumbasş here doesn't understand he has to put a G in the guitar solo" muttered the blondie.
"Language Ross" shouted Riker from his laptop, not even raising his head. He was completely ignoring his brothers' little argument, probably because he was used to them.
I asked them to let me hear the oh - so - difficult guitar solo.
"Try with a C" I suggested. It did sound better, indeed.
"I...that's... you're right" Ross surrendered blushing slightly.
"Thanks Hailie" said Rocky.
"No problem" I smiled and went back upstairs.
It was a Friday and I had agreed on going with the others on the set of Austin & Ally. I hadn't watched each and every episode because at the orphanage the tv was always occupied and I spent most of my time in my room, so I didn't really get the chance to watch it steadily.
I was trying to catch up with them now that I lived with the Lynches but I still didn't have much time.
I had helped Ross revising his lines the night before and he knew them all perfectly but for a couple, which he couldn't really learn by heart.
A couple of hours later we were stuffed in a car heading to where the set was.
We got there a bit early so Ross had time to show me around. It was both amazing because I finally got to see something I had only watched on tv so far, but also a bit sad because all the cameras and the props took away the illusion that it was all real.
"Now we have to film, it won't take too long" explained Ross. I nodded and followed Rydel to our brother's changing room, meeting Laura halfway and greeting her.
I thought that waiting wouldn't be fun but I was nicely surprised to know I was wrong.
