On Tuesday we met the boys at their house and after we were all ready, we left. We were split in 3 cars (there were the 11 of us and all the equipment); I was with Ashton, Riker and Ryland. We were blasting music from the radio and the time flew by very fast.
We arrived at the edge of the woods where camping was allowed. Nobody else was there and I started getting even more excited about our little adventure.
The day passed by watching the boys trying to be machos and set up the tents. Rydel and I sat on the grass watching them because as Calum said, and I quote him directly, 'such beauties shouldn't work but enjoy the lovely sun'. He is a total flirt and a dorky gentleman.
Once everything was ready, it was already around 3pm and lunchtime had passed from a bit.
We went around exploring: we were settling in a wide glade but all around there were trees.
It was a really pretty place and we were all admiring the landscape.
"Guys, I hear something like a river" Said Ross. We all shut up and he was right, we could hear water flowing nearby.
Going down a small hill, in fact, there was a creek going through the woods. I noticed there a sort of mini lake where the water pressure wasn't too hard, so I went there and, after taking off my shoes and socks, I put my feet in the water. It was amazingly cool and relaxing, it was something I used to do in Italy when I was little.
"What are you doing?" Asked Luke with an amused tone.
"It is really cool, come try it!" I giggled. They all came close and tried it out, squealing because the water was cold. We sat there playing with the water and talking, we had a lot of fun.
As it was becoming dark, we came back to our tents. Ryland had the bright idea to lit a fire like they do in those extreme documentaries, using two sticks and rubbing them together. That didn't work out at all, indeed.
Michael ended up using a proper lighter whilst Ryland put up a pouty face.
"I was almost there" he muttered.
"Yeah, right" giggled Michael.
Sitting around the campfire, we ate marshmallows (duh) and afterwards pulled up our guitars.
Luke was lazily strumming his, not playing any song in particular and that created a really nice atmosphere. Everyone was telling weird and funny facts from previous tours and Ashton couldn't help but telling a couple of his lame jokes. The thing with his jokes is that they suck so badly that it is actually funny how proud of them he looks.
"I didn't know you played guitar" Michael told me, "do you want to play something together?"
"Of course!" I said. We decided to cover 'The Nights' by Avicii and I had to sing along. I must admit I was pretty nervous because I was about to play and sing in front of my favourite bands. However I knew they wouldn't judge me, so I managed to stay calm.
Mike and I began and I was wrapped in the performance. It went pretty well and once we were done everybody clapped.
"You have an amazing voice" Ashton complimented me and I blushed.
After that we agreed that it was late, so we went to sleep. We had four tents and I was sharing mine with Rydel.
"Hailie" she whispered after a while we were laying down, supposedly sleeping.
"Yeah?"
"I want to prank the boys" she giggled. "Maybe tomorrow? So we'll have more time to plan everything" I loved my evil side.
"Yes, you're right" she paused, "now we'd better sleep" she said smiling.
"Ok, goodnight"
"'Night"
