Chapter 42- Remember?

Mickey: 'Remember that maxi pizza you promised me?'

I was woken up by this delightful text. I looked at the time and it was 4 am. That boy doesn't have nothing better to do at night like sleeping?
I decided to call him because the light coming from the screen was making it impossible from my still sleepy eyes to text.
He picked up the call almost instantly.

"Hello Hailie" he said innocently.
"Hello Michael" I responded, sleepiness evident in my voice.
"Did I wake you up?"
"No, Michael, I was partying all night long enjoying my busy social life" I giggled, trying to keep quiet not to wake the others up.
"Sorry"
"Doesn't matter. Anyway yes, I remember about the pizza"
"Good, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come over and have some. The boys and I wanted to party or something but we're just sitting here not knowing what to do"
"You know I'm not funny. And it's 4am"
"Oh please Hailieeee come overrrr and buy us pizzaaaa" they all said together.
I sighed and pondered about it. I finally mumbled,
"Ok, lemme ask Riker"
I was aware of the fact that waking someone up in the middle of the night wasn't the nicest thing to do, but if I left without telling Riker he would freak out and ground me forever.
I tiptoed to the room he shared with Rocky and slowly opened the door. They were both peacefully sleeping.
I kneeled next to Riker's bed and lightly shook his arm.
"Riker" I called whispering.
It took him a bit to open his eyes and he was surprised to see me next to him.
"What... Hailie?" He said beyond sleepy.
"I...uh...". It sounded quite stupid now, but I wanted to go over to the boys so I tried to put it the nicest I could.
"The boys invited me over to chill because they're bored... can I go?"
"Hailie what time is it?"
"4am"
"Don't be stupid, go back to sleep" he said turning to the other side.
"Riker please"
"No, Hailie, we'll talk about it later"
I didn't see how to prove my point, so I just left and went back into my room.
I texted Michael.

'Sorry, can't come. I'll give you the money for the pizza though'
'It's ok, don't worry. We'll save the money for another time when you can come'
'Thanks. Now I'm going back to sleep. Night'
'Night and sorry for waking you up'

I woke up still mad at Riker.
I met his gaze during breakfast but he didn't smile like he usually did.
When we were done I was ready to go in the basement to practice a bit on my new guitar but he grabbed my arm.
"We need to talk"
"Alright" I shrugged and followed him to his room.
He shut the door and sat on his bed, then began talking.
"So, why in the first place were you asleep at 4am?"
"Michael texted me and I forgot to put my phone on vibration so I was woken by the ringtone"
"Right, and what the hell were they doing? Were they having a party?"
"No, they were just bored and yesterday I promised Michael a maxi pizza so they asked me if I wanted to join them"
"Were you really thinking I was going to let you go?"
"I can't see what was wrong with going"
"Hailie, they're all older than you and they probably had alcohol"
"So you don't trust your friends?"
"I do, but I don't want you to be around drunk people, even if they're my friends"
"But I'm 16, I'm legal and can take care of myself, don't you think?"
"Well I'm 21, soon 22, and your legal tutor so guess what? No buts"
"You're lucky I even asked you, I could have sneaked out from the window"
"Don't ever think about that"
I rolled my eyes and motioned towards the door to leave, then stopped.
"Don't you ever think about scolding Michael" because I knew he was going to.
"I'll see"
I gave him a warning look then left.
I closed the door and opened it again a few seconds later, to find Riker already with his phone in his hand.
"Seriously, don't be so overprotective"
"Oh my god Hailie, you're so stubborn. I won't call him, okay?"
"Good boy" I said smirking then finally heading to the basement.
