As I came back into the livingroom from the basement, I went outside to tan a bit. I had always been ghostly pale, so whenever I went to the seaside I got sunburned instead of tanned. I figured that spending a few minutes in the sun wouldn't hurt, so I simply sat in the backyard, when I saw Riker a few feet away from me talking on the phone.
I couldn't help but eavesdropping.
"Yeah but I mean she's sixteen..." He said sighing. Are they talking about me?
"No, Ashton, I don't want that happening again"
Okay, so he's scolding Ashton about what happened at night.
"It's okay, gotta go now" he said hunging up.
He turned around and gasped as he saw me.
"Well?" I simply asked.
"You told me not to call Michael"
"So you called Ashton" I acknowledged.
He nodded looking pretty embarassed.
"You're so childish, Riker"
"Not my fault if they're stupid" he said walking back inside. I opened my mouth to say something but I didn't really have nothing to say.
I was pissed off by now. Couldn't Riker simply let go? No, he had to make me look like a baby in front of my friends. He couldn't understand he made a fool out of himself, too.
I quickly dialed Ashton's number.
"Hello Hailie" he said a but unsure of why I had called.
"Hey Ash. Sorry for Riker"
"You caught him, didn't you?" He asked, amusement evident in his voice.
"Yes. He's overprotective" I pouted.
"Nah, he's kinda right. We shouldn't bother you at 4am" he giggled.
"Did you have alcohol?" I asked out of the blue, just to see if Riker was right.
"No"
"Ash, truth please"
"Ok a pair of beers, not much"
"Alright, it's okay". We quickly said goodbye then hung up.
Riker was right, they had alcohol. Not enough to get drunk for sure, but still.
I should have believed him, also because he had known the boys for longer than I had.
He disappointed me though, because I told him not to call Michael (meaning also the boys and he knew that) and he did it anyway. Not that I wanted to control him or something, but he himself said he wouldn't so it wasn't nice at all.
I went back inside and the boys were watching a movie and whose side on the couch was empty? Yep, Riker's.
I wasn't really eager to sit next to him, so I asked  where Rydel was.
Ross and Rocky, who were there watching the movie, too, apparently expected Riker to answer me, and seeing he wasn't paying attention to me they looked pretty surprised.
"She's, uh, in her room watching a movie" said Ross hesitantly exchanging confused looks with his brown-haired brother.
I thanked him and went upstairs to my sister's room.
Ross was right, she was continuing the Harry Potter movies marathon she began a few days ago.
She was now watching the Half-Blood Prince, aka my favourite out of the whole series.
"Hey Delly"
"Hey" she said pausing the movie.
"I'm bored... can I join?"
"Of course you can, Hailie! I thought you were downstairs with the boys"
"Nope" I said giggling awkwardly.
"I thought you and Riker were okay"
"He fucķed up"
"Wanna talk about it?"
"Not really"
"Alright"
And we turned our attention back to the movie.
As the movie finished (not long after) Rydel asked me if I wanted to have lunch together and go to the mall.
"Like an all girls day?"
"Yep" she smiled, then seemed to have an idea, "we could ask Laura to join, if it's okay with you"
Asking me if I wanted to spend an afternoon with an actress I've always wanted to meet?
"Hell yeah... I mean... sure, of course" I said laughing at the end.
Rydel texted Laura and half an hour later we were all sitting in Chubbs, heading to the mall.
