Mark x Jeno x Donghyuck

Jeno grins when he finds Mark at his door. "Did someone miss me?"

Mark lightly pushes his shoulder back with a chuckle. "Have you always been this annoying?"

Jeno shrugs. "Maybe you were blinded by love."

"Clearly."

After Mark puts his jacket down and joins Jeno next to the stove, he can't stop himself from asking, "Are you gonna ask?"

"You like him, right?" Jeno hesitates for a few seconds and then nods. "Then, why don't you ask him out?"

"It's complicated", Jeno mumbles.

"How?"

"I don't wanna talk about it."

"Please, not you too."

"I won't be like this for everything. My feelings are just complicated."

"I was fine but now I'm a little worried. You won't hurt each other, right?"

Jeno turns to face Mark. "I really don't wanna hurt, Hyuck. I just need to figure something out."

Mark nods, trying to let Jenos words comfort him. "Okay."

Even though there's room for him in between Mark and Donghyuck, Jeno still squishes himself into the space between Donghyucks side and the couch so his best friends will be next to each other.

Donghyuck thinks about telling Jeno that he should be in the middle but he knows how it's gonna sound so he doesn't say anything. Just scoots over just enough that Jeno can sit comfortably and he's not right against Mark.

"You have enough room?" Mark asks Jeno, scooting over because he knows that Donghyuck doesn't wanna touch him. He knows that Donghyuck probably doesn't enjoy having to be next to him and the thought makes him sad but there's nothing he can do about it. Nothing he should do because Donghyuck likes Jeno and Jeno likes him and they should be together.

"I'm good", Jeno answers as he slouches on Donghyuck, making him lean over as well.

"Are you good, Hy-Donghyuck?"

Donghyuck nods, choosing to ignore Marks near slip-up. "I'm good."

Mark grabs the throw pillow from his side and moves it in between him and Donghyuck so he can move a little closer without being too close. He sees Donghyuck look at the pillow and Mark wonders what he's thinking but then he immediately wants to slap himself because he needs to stop worrying about Donghyuck like this. He tries telling himself that he shouldn't worry about Donghyuck in any way he wouldn't worry about Jeno but Jeno causes his own flurry of confusion in Mark and Mark still doesn't want to acknowledge it.

Watching the movie should be easy for Donghyuck. Jeno is next to him, leaning on him and there's no Jeno and Mark to think about but the fact that Donghyuck is the only barrier between them, a barrier that they might both secretly be wishing wasn't there, doesn't make him feel good. The movie doesn't even matter anymore, not that Donghyuck was that excited about it. He's really only here because Mark invited them and Donghyuck is trying to be a good friend. It had also helped that Jeno said he wanted to see him and his heart was too busy fluttering to give his brain a chance to list the reasons why he shouldn't go.

 After a while, Donghyuck gets up to excuse himself to the bathroom where he spends an extra two minutes preparing himself for the sight he's pretty sure is gonna greet him. He's right when he finds Jeno leaning on Mark. Mark makes eye contact with him and begins to move but Donghyuck shakes his head.
