Jeno x Jaemin x Donghyuck

Every time he sees it, he feels it. The longing, the appreciation, the annoying joy because he truly does love his friends, even if he wants to be a part of them. A part of the thing deeper than their friendship, that thing that blends Jeno and Jaemin into something more than friends, but not yet together. Not together in the way Donghyuck wants to be with them. Something that feels almost out of reach, like he's close but just not close enough, not quick enough to get to it. That's how Jeno and Jaemin make him feel every time he has to see them together, completely and accidentally in sync, more comfortable than he's seen anyone be with anyone else, too perfect on their own and achingly painful together.

Jaemin thinks he gets it. He knows there's something with Jeno and Donghyuck. Can see it in the way Donghyuck teases him with underlying love, the way he goes to Jeno so they can be each others comfort, the way he accepts all Jenos clinginess and masks it with his own. They feel special, in a way that's as warming as it is bitter. He likes seeing Donghyuck and Jeno, laughs and smiles at them because they're so cute (even if Jaemin doesn't really wanna tell them that). Jeno and Donghyuck are his. Jaemins precious best friends, but he wants more than that. Wants to be apart of whatever chemistry they've created together, wants to be in the middle, and sometimes the end so he can cage one of them against him, feeling happy to share his love. He wants to be with them.

Donghyuck and Jaemin are a weird sight. Both incredibly similar yet clashing and fiery. Jeno has seen the way Donghyuck pokes all of Jaemins buttons, not caring about the consequences. He's seen Jaemin lose his patience countless times when it comes to the male, only to be completely different with someone else. With someone like Jeno. Jeno knows he's their soft spot, the one who feels like glue, even though he's sure friends could keep themselves together without him. But Jeno doesn't feel like that, he feels like their favorite. He's not oblivious to Donghyucks affection for him that seems to go a bit deeper than his for other people. Jaemin had been the same, so clear with his love it had freaked Jeno out. But that didn't mean he didn't like it. Jeno wants both. 

It can get awkward sometimes, the three of them facing each other, no particular conversation in mind. It'll go away, Jaemin knows. Donghyuck will probably say something, since he's usually the one to manage their silence. Like he usually does, especially when uncomfortable, Jeno eats. The crunch of the chips shattering is the only sound they've heard for five minutes, besides when they greeted each other at the door.

Jeno watches his best friends, feeling something off in the air. For once, Donghyuck doesn't seem to know what to say and Jaemin doesn't look that happy, but he can't tell what the reason for that is. He keeps eating, silently offers snacks to the two, and hopes that soon, they'll get it together.

Jaemin chuckles at Jenos nervous eating, finding it cute. The sound startles Jeno and Donghyuck who both seem a little more unnerved than before. Jaemin smirks to himself, funny.

He reaches onto the table in front of him and grabs a piece of candy. "What?" He asks, before putting it in his mouth.

Donghyuck softly nudges him. "Tell us what's up with you."

His voice is soft, showcasing sincerity that Jaemin rarely sees because that's not the kind of relationship they have. He wants it though, wants the softness and delicacy that has always been reserved for Jeno. He admits he's a little jealous, but his own feelings battle out the feeling making him nearly unsure of which emotion he's actually experiencing.

Jaemin shrugs, keeping his eyes on his hands unwrapping another candy. "Nothing."

Donghyuck groans. "Liar."

"Did something happen?" Jeno asks in concern, leaning forward in his place just to be the slightest bit closer despite the table in between them.

"Maybe."
