Cameron wasn't sure how he got here. He stood in the empty hallway, looking around, his hands in his pockets. The nice lady outside said that he would find his sister's friend, Allison, somewhere around here, but he couldn't find her anywhere. The only sound in the hallway was the slight hum of the fluorescent lights, and the only person he had seen near here was the brunette outside. Cameron had to find Allison quick, because the redhead was supposed to accompany him and his sister to the beach after her dance practice.
"Allison?" called Cameron out timidly.
He started to move down the hallway, looking this way and that. There was a door on the left side coming up. He opened it, and sighed. It was some kind of storage closet. After closing the door, he turned towards the end of the hallway and spotted another door.
"Allison?" he called out again.
There was no reply. Cameron started walking down the hallway again, eager to find the cute redhead. He had had a crush on her for a while. In high school, she lived next door to Cameron, and although his sister quickly befriended her, he never had the courage to really speak with her. Even after he graduated, and entered the second year of university, Cameron frequently thought about Allison, and when his sister had asked him if he wanted to watch her dance today, he had agreed perhaps a little too enthusiastically.
Images of Allison dancing played non-stop in Cameron's head as he made his way towards the door at the end of the hall. Her outfit was amazing, and he had spent the entirety of the dance session hiding a boner. Now that he was reaching the door, Cameron started to think of what he could say to her to make her laugh, so that he could see that dazzling smile of hers again. He stopped in front of the door, turned to look over his shoulder to confirm that the hallway was still empty, and then reached out and turned the handle.
On the other side of the door was a small room. A large mirror surrounded by light bulbs hung on the opposite wall, and a wooden bar lined the left side of the room. On the right side was some kind of clothing rack, a horizontal pole propped up on some wooden legs with leotards, leggings, and other costumes draped over it. The walls were a light blue, and the only form of decoration was a small potted plant in the corner. Next to the large mirror on the far wall was another door, which stood ajar.
Cameron swept his gaze over the room, and then looked at the door on the opposite side. He glanced behind him one last time before creeping through the door and into the small room. He shut the door behind him, and looked around more carefully, his gaze eventually landing on the mirror again, and sweeping over all of the makeup tools on the counter in front of it.
It was at this moment that Cameron's brain caught up with him and he realized that he was standing in the girls changing room.
His eyes widened and his hands flew out of his pockets as he frantically looked around him again, but he was still as alone as he had been when he walked through the door. Cameron sighed, shook his head slightly, and then looked at the other door, which was opened slightly. Was there someone in there?
He cautiously inched forward, his arm slowly reaching for the door handle. When he reached the door, he quickly looked behind him, listening for any sounds in the hallway, and then pushed the door open.
Cameron's eyes widened as he took in the sight of a small bathroom. It had a black and white checkered tile floor, and a small sink pushed up against the wall. The white porcelain toilet was situated across the tiny room, facing the door, the toilet lid up. Cameron stood in the doorway, frozen for a few seconds, but then he turned around and looked behind him again, staring at the door leading to the hallway. There was complete silence. After he was satisfied that no one was coming, Cameron slid his hand up the wall of the bathroom until he found the light switch, flicked the lights on, and then stepped inside.
