dina's pov:

i spread out across my bed as i waited for my mom to finish cooking christmas eve dinner, my cat resting on my chest.

ellie hasn't spoken to me since our 'date' yesterday, as you can tell i'm worried for her.

her toothy smile won't leave my mind for some reason, i've only ever seen it once or twice anyway.

i don't know why she hides it if i'm honest, if i had a smile as pretty as that i'd never close my mouth.

it hurts knowing she'll never be able to see herself through my eyes, all i want is for her to feel as beautiful as she is.

with a grunt i flipped over, reaching for my phone which charged beside my bed.

i clicked on ellie's snapchat, only to see her username with a small grey 'x' beside it.

"what the fuck?" i say to myself, clicking onto her inactive profile.

i tried to add her a couple times, a same grey bar appearing at the top of my screen.

it's christmas eve, i was planning to spend it with her but i don't see that happening.

"hey tal?" i called from my open bedroom door, a couple seconds later and talia appeared in the door frame.

"i need you to do me a huge favor,"

she sighed, i've been asking her to do stuff for me all day. "what now?"

"can you take me to ellie's after dinner?" i asked, and she nodded rolling her eyes before leaving the room.

i thanked her, immediately packing a bag.

i grabbed the usual, my charger, some snacks and an extra pair of clothes.

the gift i had sneakily bought for ellie at the mall was still in the closet, i grabbed that too.

grabbing the cat wrapping paper i had a little extra of from last christmas i began to wrap, starting with the biggest; new converses.

hers were pretty fucked up anyway, by the looks of it she had about two or three more wears in those before they're done for.

i wrapped them tightly, sticking a small red ribbon in the middle. i sat that aside, moving onto the next.

i didn't even notice that my sister was watching me the whole time, her eyes peeking around the corner.

"who's that for?" she asks, pointing to the boat load of gifts. "nobody," i said shooing her away.

i continued wrapping, throwing them aside as i grabbed the very last gift.

my mom called us down for dinner as i finished the gift with another bow, jumping out of bed and heading downstairs.

everyone from my family was here, needless to say i had to mentally prepare myself to be bombarded with useless questions

'so dina, do you have a boyfriend?'

'did you finally get your license?'

'are you still in love with your ex?'

i headed downstairs, my grandma greeting me at the bottom. "there she is," she smiled pulling me in.

"hey gigi," i hugged her back, moving onto the next in the line of my large family.

finishing that up i sat down at the table, if i'm honest the only thing on my mind was ellie.

was she alone on christmas? are her parents finally come?
