dina's pov:

i finished up my shower, tying my hair back into a bun to let it air dry.

ellie was still asleep in bed, every once in awhile i'd check on her and she'd still be in the same cute position as earlier.

we're suppose to be watching some performance later on today, my parents are supposed to be here any minute to get us.

not by choice, obviously i want to spend time with ellie but it's their anniversary, i'd feel like shit if i said no.

"wake up baby, we gotta go." i say, softly shaking ellie as she slept soundly. "h-huh?" she jumps.

"you're alright angel, come on."

she finally wakes up, turning over and rubbing her face. "where are we going?" she mumbles.

"some stupid performance think. i don't wanna go either, trust me." with a sigh she sat up, still not fully opening her eyes.

i got all of her stuff ready, grabbing an outfit from her suitcase and tossing it on her bed.

of course she made me turn around while she got changed as if i haven't seen her naked before, giving me the signal when she was done.

i sat behind her on the bed, my legs grabbed around her waist as i finger-combed her hair.

"can i do your hair again?" i ask, kissing the back of her neck as she stared off at the balcony. all she did was hum as i reached for my hair and makeup bag.

she always stared at my butterfly clips so i grabbed those, too.

i started with my brush, lightly brushing her hair as she sat in my lap.

"ow, you dick!" she said as i hit a tangle. "shut it."

i finished with a small braid tied toward the back of her head, an orange butterfly clip holding it together. "you like?" i smile, handing her a handheld mirror.

"it's alright i guess," she jokes. "fuck you too then, give me back my clip."

"i'm just kidding, chill out." she chuckles.

it took her awhile to notice the clips in her hair, when she finally saw them a large smile plastered across her face cs.

"can i keep it?" she asks eagerly, and i nod.

"why do you like them so much?"

"i don't know. every time i saw it, it made me think of you." she smiled softly.

"oh so it's alright when you sweet talk me, but when i do it i get made fun of?" i laugh, shoving her.

"pretty much, yeah."

rolling my eyes playfully i finished the style with a couple sprays of hairspray, kissing her cheek.

i threw on my slippers, ellie with her converse as usual. "are you ever not wearing those?"

"since you got me them, no." she said grabbing her tote bag and heading out the door, her fingers interlocked in mine.

we made our way down to the lobby where talia was already waiting on the couch, scrolling on her phone.

"what were y'all doing in there?" she smirked, and i slapped her. "don't be gross."

i heard ellie chuckle behind me as we walked out, my mom and dad were already parked outside of the lobby doors.

i opened the door for ellie as always, putting my hand atop her head so she didn't get hit by the low ceilings.

ellie's pov:

i lowered myself into the car with a grunt, taking the middle seat yet again.

dina said if i get the window seat on the plane she gets the window seat in the car, obviously that's fair but i don't want it to be.

i squeezed my legs together as the two practically crushed me, leaning against dina.

we're supposed to be going to a performance in some arena a couple minutes away, i have absolutely no idea where we're going but it's whatever.

i texted dina, i knew she was beside me but i didn't want to say it out loud.

| me
i'm nervous

she instantly read my message, placing a hand on my thigh as it bounced up and down anxiously.

| didi <3
i got you angel
i'm right here, you're okay

i smiled at her message, her doing the same.

i assume i fell asleep halfway through the car ride because i was woken up by the feeling of dina shaking me, telling me we had arrived.

looking around for a moment i stared up at the brick building, dina holding my hand as i got out.

"you ready?" she smiles swiping the dog hair off of my shirt as we walked inside. all i did was hum, admiring the scenery for a bit. "how long will this take?" i ask.

"as long as they need, i don't know." she shrugs, and i shake my head. "wow, so much help." i whisper under my breath, she didn't hear me though.

we walked into an auditorium-type room, people flooding in my the second.

the room slowly got louder and louder as i felt my anxiety raise above the roof, bouncing my leg once again.

"i know baby, i know." dina whispered, pulling my hand into hers and rubbing it with her thumb. "you're okay, you're safe."

i smiled, leaning my head on her shoulder and shutting my eyes.

"you can fall asleep on me if you'd like, i won't stop you." she kissed my forehead, and i nodded.

the room finally went dark as the lights dimmed, followed by the soft tune of a piano.

of course that had scared me awake, i have no idea what's going on but it seems interesting.

after awhile a single dancer came on wearing a large gold and baby pink tutu, twirling along the cenger of the stage.

"is that what this is?" i ask, pointing as more ballerina looking people danced in sync to the music.

dina shrugged, looking over as her mom and dad cheered them on.

this place sucks.
