dina's pov:

"beautiful," talia complimented adding the final touches to my hair and makeup.

ellie wanted to take me out on a date today. and yes you heard me correctly, ellie wanted to take me out. not the other way around.

admiring myself in the mirror for a bit i fixed up any imperfections i could find, smoothing out my dress.

looking down i saw a message from ellie.

| my angel <3
i'm ready when you are

| me
okay angel
i'm almost ready
i can't waittt

| my angel <3
love you

i quickly sprayed my favorite perfume, heading out the door to talia's car. she offered to take us.

"so, you excited?" talia tries to spark a conversation. "more than that."

we finally arrived at the front of her house, it took only ten minutes but to me it felt like hours. ellie was already halfway down the driveway.

"where we going?" i ask as ellie lowers herself into the vehicle, yet she doesn't say a word. "don't worry, i know." talia smiles back at her.

now i'm confused. is this a surprise or something? they both know i hate surprises.

i'm pretty sure i zoned out the entire car ride because i was 'woken up' to ellie shaking me around to get up and out of the car.

with a sigh i got up, talia stayed in while ellie helped me to the door. "where are we?" no response.

"okay seriously, this is getting annoying now." i chuckle awkwardly as she swings open the door, my nose immediately getting hit with the smell of cooking food.

looking around i admired the fancy glass fixtures hung on the ceiling, waiters walking around in beautiful black and gold aprons.

we made our way to the front to check in, ellie already had reservations made.

"right this way, ma'am." the waitress says, i followed close behind ellie as we were guided to our table. she chose the one in the back where the prettiest view was; the ocean.

"why are we here again?" i ask, and ellie finally opens her mouth. "i just wanted to see you."

i held back a smile as she spoke, pulling a piece of hair behind my ear. "you look pretty."

"me? pretty? look at you, angel." i compliment, and her face flushes a bright red. "see, you know i'm right."

the waitress came back with our drinks and a giant menu, i thanked her and began to sip on my diet coke. ellie got me addicted to this.

"why'd you take me here anyway?" i chuckle, and she shrugs. "i wanted to make you feel special."

ellie's pov:

"you know i love you, right? like a lot." i add. "you're being so weird, what's going on?" dina chuckles awkwardly as she takes another sip from her cup.

"are you gonna propose or something?"

i slap her shoulder, "no you idiot, it's just a date. nothing more than that. now stop overthinking and let's enjoy it."

the waiter came back with a menu, placing one in front of both of us with a smile. "order when you're ready." she grins as she turns away.

"get whatever, i'm paying today." i smile, and dina's eyes shot down to the list of foods. "this?" she points go a shrimp platter. "anything, angel."

"god, i love you."

it hurts to know that dina thinks we'll be spending the rest of our lives together, especially now when i only have a day until i'm gone.

it's now 6pm, dina asked to walk me home for the last time.

we walked hand in hand, swinging our arms back and forth like we were kids again. i want to make these last few moments with her memorable.

"i really enjoyed today, we should do it again sometime." dina smiled, tilting her head as we made eye contact. god this hurts. "yeah, i agree." i lied.

we finally reached my driveway, i paused to look at dina for a moment.

"i love you more than anyone or anything in this world, never forget that alright?" i tighten my grip on her hand.

"you mean the entire universe to me." i add, bringing my hand to cup her face. "what's going on?" dina chuckles awkwardly. "n-nothing i just-" she cuts me off. "you're being so weird ellie, is everything okay?"

"of course, why do you ask?"

she paused, not once taking her eyes off of mine. "nevermind, i'm probably overthinking it."

without word i wrap my arms around her waist tightly, tight enough to ensure myself that i'd never need to feel a hug like hers ever again.

lifting my head i pulled her lips to mine, passionately kissing her like we did on our first date.

the kiss was slow, every once in awhile i'd pull away just to look at her before continuing again.

she finally pulled away, spit dripping down her chin with a smile. "god, you're disgusting." i chuckle before bringing a hand to wipe her mouth.

both of our lips were red and swollen, a slight gloss to them. "listen to me, alright?" i stare up into her eyes. "i'm listening,"

"whatever happens between us i promise to never stip loving you, dina. you're such a light i swear i don't deserve you."

the familiar stinging feeling spread across my throat as i struggled to put my feelings into words.

"i love you so much my baby, you don't understand how much i love you." i kiss her one last time, finally letting go of my grip on her. "i love you too?" dina raises a brow.

"you're acting so off, are you sure everything's okay?" she chuckles awkwardly once again. "of course, didi. just please don't worry alright?"

she nods, i could tell she was worrying her ass off but i didn't want to make this more awkward than it already was. "i have to go now, remember what i said okay?" i smile, and she nods.

kissing her once more i made my way down the driveway, dina waited until i got inside to walk away.

i sat for a moment, do i really want to do this? i mean i've waited all this time, obviously dina's enough of a reason to keep going.

no, i have to follow through with my plan. i've waited all this time, it can't be for nothing.

i've craved this for years now, maybe tonight will finally be my final attempt. no more worrying, no more stress.

just eternal peace. forever.

tonight.
