dina's pov:

i was woken up by the feeling of ellie rustling around, tossing and turning in her sleep.

i chuckled to myself before waking her up. "hey baby," i greet, smiling ear to ear.

her hair was a mess and her mascara smudged around her eyes making her look like a raccoon as she woke up.

"you look cute." i joke, she rolls her eyes playfully. "yeah yeah,"

we both woke up, checking the time. 1:36pm.

"you actually slept?" she cheers, smiling up at me. "oh shut up, i'm always asleep."

"sure you do," she laughs, i join in.

i peeked through the curtain, the sunlight blinding the both of us as i opened them fully.

"i have an idea for today." i began, smirking playfully. "and what would that idea be?"

i sat up, fixing my bun. "you'll see,"

eager, i rush the both of us to get ready. i've had this planned for a while.

my sister was in on it aswell, ellie doesn't know that though.

i planned a secret picnic date for us along the coast, on the side of the beach where no one goes.

i overheard ellie talking about her love for the ocean. the waves, the sand between her toes. everything about it amazes her apparently.

talia's currently there, setting everything up while i stall and distract her.

"you excited?" i ask, and she nods.

she seems more energetic than usual, maybe this is a good sign?

i pray i'm saving her somehow, she's more smiley than ever.

the clock now read 2:05pm, it's almost time for us to leave.

i shot talia a quick text before gathering my stuff.

| me
i'm coming now

| tal tal
everything's done ;)
y'all have fun
so so proud of you

| me
awww shucks
now leave

i locked my phone, shoving it in my back pocket. "where are we going?" she asked repeatedly, but i ignored.

"come on, tell me." she dragged out eagerly. "patience, love. we're almost there anyway."

i tried to distract her from the sound of the waves crashing ashore, catching a slight glimpse of the setup.

i struggle to hold back my smile as we finally reach our destination, squeezing ellie's hand a little tighter.

"i'm not going anywhere, chill out." she chuckles, and i loosen my grip.

my palms were sweating more than usual, i was nervous to say the least.

i'm gonna do something a little different today, something i've never done before.

"holy fuck," i say under my breath, she looks over with her eyebrows furrowed. "what? you're scaring me."

"nothing, nothing. just walk."

we reach the beach, i tie a blindfold around her eyes as i lead her to the blanket which laid on the sand. "i hear water, where am i?"

"keep walking,"

i stand her in front, the sunlight beaming onto us. "take it off." i smile, standing in front of us.
