Hu Long's form materialized from that pile of spiders. She smiled mischievously.
“Hu Long…” The Empress Dowager felt a hint of sadness in her heart. She took care of this servant since she was a child like her daughter, why did she turn against them?
"How did you plan all this? What's your goal?" Madam Ren growled at the former servant angrily. She could not forgive this betrayal.

"Aaah, no one notices spiders until they bite them, right." She clapped her palms together and new webs shot out from various directions. The spiders could not cross the flame barriers but the threads were strong and could pass through the fire. This time the Empress herself acted, taking two pairs of fans from her sleeves and cutting the threads in the air with grace and lightness.

"Why were you doing this Hu Long???" The Empress asked with her eyes reddened with hurt.
"Oh, why should I give you any justification?" Hu Long laughed as he shot thousands of webs at the same time. Despite how quickly both Madam Ren and the Empress were cutting them, there were too many for them to handle and the space was becoming more and more restricted within the fire barrier every time a thread reached the ground and attached itself to it.

"This is too bad! We're at a disadvantage here!" Ren Shyu exclaimed worriedly. He remembered the doctor then.
"You're a cultivator! You should know how to kill yao! Aren't you going to do anything?"
Dr. Su let out a sigh of sadness and looked for a sharp stick from the ground.
"Young dragon, you didn't pay attention to anything I said, did you? I'm not here to take lives."

Ren Shyu: "...."
"What the fuck! We're putting our lives at risk here! Are you going to tell me that you refuse to help because of this nonsense???"
“But…” Su Ning continued, raising the stick to his face. His dark eyes lightened to the point where they turned a sky blue. "Nothing stops me from destroying a golem." He threw the stick like a javelin.

At this moment, Madam Ren blasted a large fireball at Hu Long. The spider yao laughed, dissolving into several spiders in order to avoid the flames. However, before she returned to human form, the stick flew past the Empress and her daughter, through the cloud of spiders that were beginning to regroup and hit one of them squarely and rocked it against the trunk of one of the pine trees.

The formation of spiders disbanded at the same moment, they all came together again in the form of the servant who fell semi-conscious in the low grass.
Ren Loo, Ren Shyu and Qiang Lin "..........."
An Shu laughed to himself. This young dragon thought that the master is useless, hehe, well done to him.
"WHAT?? A GOLEM [1]?" Madam Ren went to the spider stuck in the pine tree and picked it up, analyzing it thoroughly.
"It's so well done! It looks so real! WOW! What strong energy! How did we not notice this before??"

The Empress was more worried about the unconscious servant on the floor than about the golem. She tried to wake up the yao by lightly patting her face.
"Hu Long! Hu Long!"
"Imperial Grandmother! Don't stay near her! She might suddenly attack."
"There's nothing to worry about kid!" This time even An Shu answered him, tired of hearing this boy talking nonsense.
"If she was being controlled by a golem, now the effect should wear off and there is no longer any danger."

Hu Long slowly came back to his senses and then began to cry hysterically. Despite knowing that the servant no longer posed any risks, Ren Loo positioned himself next to his mother to make sure of this while he reflected on the case.
"Actually, a golem emanating energy like this should be easily perceived. Whoever did this knew that Hu Long had control over several spiders and thus the energy would be dispersed and gone unnoticed. A very clever mechanism indeed!"

"M-Mrs. I-Empress!" The servant clung to the dragon's robes and bowed, pleading with a trembling voice. "I-I didn't want to hurt you... but I c-couldn't... control myself..."
"Calm down, my dear! It's over, everything is fine now." The Empress hugged her, caressing her back. With this display of affection, Hu Long started shouting again.
"This servant wishes to be punished! I deserve death! Take me to the Emperor to judge me!"

Madam Ren did not want to bring up the matter, although the proof of mind control was indisputable, the Emperor would still have to judge this case. Then the dragon wisely diverted the subject.
"First of all, are you okay? Do you feel pain anywhere?"
The servant was gradually appeased by the two yao. She felt sore all over her body and was physically and mentally exhausted.

Then she turned her head suddenly, remembering something.
"Dr. Su! Please forgive me! I tried to kill you three times!"
No one had noticed the doctor's gentle approach, he crouched down until he was on the same level as the servant, with a small bottle in his hand.
"That's in the past. And here's one of your..." He opened the bottle and released a small spider that ran towards Hu Long. The servant girl let out an exclamation of surprise. "Why... didn't you kill it..."

The doctor laughed, putting the vial away.
"And was there any reason for that?"
He measured her pulse and then massaged the acupuncture points in the area. Hu Long felt her body quickly relax. The doctor finished the massage and stood up, turning to the Empress.
"I recommend two days of bed rest for her."

"Dr. Su! Her eye!" The Empress Dowager was startled when she saw him. The doctor's left eye was bloodshot, as if a vein had ruptured.
"Oh, don't worry." The doctor said softly, massaging his eye lightly.
"It's just a side effect. It improves in a few days and then I'll drip a solution at the clinic."
"Oh, it looks like you used the Heavenly Eye too much today, hehe. Or was it actually the Archer's Aim?" Madam Ren covered his injured eye with the palm of her hand.

Su Ning felt a slight coolness ease the irritation and discomfort.
"Was that when you threw the stick?" Ren Shyu walked over to see. He had been very scared at that time.
"This is a good technique for you to learn later, A-Shyu, it's called Archer's Aim. But it has some risks, unfortunately the doctor won't be able to see for a few hours." Madam Ren explained excitedly and withdrew her hand.

Su Ning massaged his anesthetized eye, keeping it closed. "Thank you, Madam Ren."
"Dispose! Even though you did all the heavy lifting here... Now, I want to know how you realized it was a golem?"
"Well... I had kept one of Hu Long's spiders with me. It had traces of very strong negative energy, but it was incompatible with the energy that Hu Long herself emitted." Su Ning explained.

"Therefore, there must be some external influence on it. In fact, it was not the Archer's Aim that affected my eye, but rather the technique I used to differentiate her spiritual energy from that of the golem."
"Is there even a technique for that?" Ren Shyu was surprised.
Madam Ren narrowed her eyes. "Ahhh, now it makes sense! With your level of cultivation, the Archer's Aim wouldn't cause such damage... the technique is called Gazing at the Rainbow! A-Shyu, its function is the same, to distinguish spiritual energies when there is external interference."

"External interference?"
"Interference from other energies. This way it is possible to see the original energy separately from the tampered one. Only then would he be able to see the specific energy of the golem and hit it." Ren Loo took the initiative to speak, feeling the excitement rising from his speech. "However, this technique comes at a price as it is not something very common to do: he loses vision in one of his eyes for a brief period of time."

Ren Shyu lowered his head in thought. So Dr. Su sacrificed his own eye, even temporarily,  for the servant girl who tried to kill him. This human is... crazy!
"Let's go down now that the water problem has been resolved, I still need to see the carp." The Dr. Su said satisfied. The fairy on his shoulder shuffled her feet like a child, buzzing happily.
Ren Shyu bit his own tongue. How the heck are you going to see someone in that state??? Not crazy! Completely clueless!

Author's Note

An Shu is well behaved in this chapter, lol, it turns out that Su Ning was worried that he would get into trouble and forbade him to argue with the dragons. Imagine if he could read Ren Shyu's mind. This promise he could not keep.

[1] A golem is an artificial being made of clay, which comes to life by magic and does whatever its creator tells it to. In this case, he was made in the shape of a spider, to line up and exert mental control over Hu Long.
