Doctor Su approached, truly surprised. He did not expect to receive any special retribution for the work he was doing.
Qiang Yong was also unaware of this event, but he was more surprised at how that doctor had such a light and silent gait. If it were a war, he would have a hard time hearing him approaching.

The Empress invited Su Ning to sit next to her on the divan.
"I really wanted to thank you in a special way, but I didn't know how to do it."
"No need to thank me for doing my job right, madam."

The Empress smiled. "I already imagined you would say something like that. I asked my girls for some suggestions, and then we chose to do a dance and music performance. I believe you've never seen yao dance."
"I've never really had this pleasure."
"Great! The girls dance so beautifully! You'll see. I don't know how humans dance but you'll be amazed by them! Girls! You can start!"

The servants had opened a free space in the room to perform and had changed clothes, putting on colorful robes that seemed to reflect the light and adorned themselves with gold jewelry that tinkled as they performed the complex and rhythmic choreography.

The Empress's servants were yao of different species and they synchronized their movements according to their semi-human form. Xian Zhong had a small lizard tail, so it was at the bottom to avoid hitting the others. Another yao had no way to hide its wings, remaining constantly floating in the air.

Su Ning would certainly not have another chance to see such a spectacle on earth, the movements were so graceful and the light reflection effect made the image of the servants flicker as if they were candle flames. He smiled discreetly, trying to capture all the nuances of the movements.
Really... this was a nice surprise.

Even if the dance wasn't so harmonious and well executed, he would find it beautiful. After all, true beauty could only be seen with the heart.
The servants finished the choreography and bowed gracefully, receiving a profusion of applause.

"What do you think, doctor?" The Empress asked anxiously. Qiang Yong snorted, "What could he think? No human beauty would hold a candle to these flowers of yours!"
For some reason, the Emperor felt anguish in his chest, thinking about how Su Ning had been admiring the dancers.

Su Ning ignored him and replied to the Empress with shining eyes, "I-I'm moved, there was no need to prepare something so exquisite for me. It was as if I could see the stars dance."
The Empress was very pleased and nodded to another servant. The yao began to play a pipa with extreme dexterity.

Her long nails played the strings quickly as if it were an innate ability of hers.
This time, Qiang Yong noticed that Su Ning looked strange. He watched this servant's movements with keen interest.

You won't court my maidservants, will you? He gritted his teeth and bit his inner lip. Then the doctor asked the Empress for permission, he needed to get her medicine. It was the penultimate dose she still had to take. Qiang Yong frowned, the doctor seemed so interested before, how would he do well during the presentation???

Then he remembered that for Su Ning, his patients always came before everything else. Which wasn't all bad, after all, it was about his mother's health. On the one hand, this filled the Emperor with joy, on the other hand, wouldn't this person pay attention to anything else if there was someone sick nearby?

Qiang Yong snorted lightly.
I feel sorry for the woman who one day decides to marry this man! She will have to fight him every day with the sick and with this snake that lives attached to him. Even now he went along with him just to prepare some medicine!

Doctor Su didn't stay long. However, Qiang Yong noticed that he was slightly pale and his lips were a little red, as if they had been stained with blood. Would even the doctor have fallen ill after taking so much care of his mother? However, Qiang Yong found that reddish tone strangely beautiful on those thin lips.
