The next day, the Empress contacted Dr. Su via communication headquarters to see if he was free to receive her that afternoon. The doctor was only seeing one patient and the case wouldn't take long, so she quickly got ready to go with her newest entourage of daughter and grandson.

Qiang Yong was previously going to provide a bodyguard for his mother, but as Madam Ren was going to come along to satisfy her curiosity and also express her gratitude, he suspended the action. Ren Loo was worth an entire army, he once said during the war. And in turn, Madam Ren dragged a grumpy Ren Shyu with her by the collar of his shirt.

"Stop bothering your uncle! Or do you think you can help him with all that bureaucracy!"
"I'm watching and learning! To become a great leader like him! The only thing I'll learn from humans is how to be a dirty killer and stab others in the back!"

"Look at Qiang Yong! You've turned my son into a bigot just like you!"
"The boy already said that he learns by observing. And of course, walking with you in this world he can observe very well how humans are." Qiang Yong retorted without giving much importance to the matter.

"That's not true! Shyu-er, don't you remember when you were little and that little human girl offered you a piece of the only candy she had?"
"She didn't even know I was a yao! If she had known, would she still have offered it to me? Besides, I refused, I would never eat human waste!"

"Yes, you will come! And you should come too, brother. Apologize to the doctor and thank him properly as your Dragon pride dictates!"
"I would, if I didn't have to go to the western border today to fortify the barrier."
The  barrier that Qiang Yong was referring to was one that he and the other leaders of the other yao clans erected to isolate on a High Plateau the most violent yao who took a stand against the peace agreement with the Human Kingdom.

Every year they had to renew their part in forming the barrier, otherwise a rift would open and it would be difficult to deal with the rebel fugitives.
"EEEEEEH, funny that you're leaving early this year, huh?"
"I want to get this over with. Most of the leaders are gone." Qiang Yong shrugged and left without prolonging the discussion.

In fact, Qiang Yong couldn't stop thinking about Su Ning these past few days. The doubt whether or not he could be the person he met in the past, or some relative of him, constantly hovered in his mind like a dark cloud. Furthermore, he had been having repetitive dreams about the doctor.

In these dreams, he saw himself pinning Su Ning's wrists above him head with one hand while the other grabbed the soft, smooth flesh of the doctor's slender neck, rubbing it until it turned a reddish hue. Then, he bit the defenseless Adam's apple, and upon subduing his prey, he sucked it hard, eliciting soft moans from the other.

Needless to say, Qiang Yong would wake up at these moments, feeling the uncomfortable dampness in his pants. He didn't know how things ended up like this between him and the doctor, living together for just three days! And to top it off, Su Ning always maintained a very professional attitude! How could he now look so delicious and provocative?

Madam Ren shook her head, laughing after seeing her brother's strange indifference and waited for her mother to arrive. The Empress Dowager took some time looking for an outfit that wouldn't make her stand out too much, but would be in keeping with her position. She chose a light green, wide-sleeved tunic, embroidered with pink floral details and gold outlines.

In contrast, Ren Loo wore the tunic in a shade of orange-red, fastened with a tight leather belt, and wore his usual black pants and  boots. Red Tide's everyday clothes were almost always military, as if she expected war at all times, but in reality it was just to facilitate her movements in the adventures she was always looking for.
