The Yao Emperor and His Human Doctor.

Chapter 32 - Searching for the Phoenix

"Huang Ming was killed?! Qiang Yong shouted, suddenly standing up from the chair he was in. "How did this happen??? Wasn't she going to strengthen her key at the Barrier?"
"Yes sir!" Liao Pu almost choked with nervousness. "She and her daughter had gone together, but when they arrived at Barrier, they were attacked in an ambush. The servants who escaped said that it  looked like some kind of chimera, with claws like a lion and the body of a bear. It attacked Huang Ming, ripped off his wings and ripped out his throat!"

Ren Loo's eyebrows furrowed in disgust. "How barbaric! "What about her daughter?"
"Huang Jia also had her wings cut off and is missing. And on top of that, she was pregnant!"
"So Huang Ming didn't complete the closing of the Barrier! This isn't a mere coincidence! That yao must be behind this! It can only be him! What is this creature up to anyway?" Qiang Yong concluded. This enemy could only be one of the former Yao generals who had been sealed and escaped! The clan leaders took too long to strengthen the barrier.

"This monster is very powerful. It was able to reach the barrier and attack two adult phoenixes right after the doctor's kidnapping failed! Wouldn't it be better to bring Dr. Su here himself? Who knows what else this creature could do!" Ren Loo urged his brother.
Qiang Yong gritted his teeth, he had no way of ignoring this warning. Murdering a phoenix was not something trivial that anyone could do.

Huang Ming was one of the strongest yao he knew and was still accompanied by her daughter. Was the crime committed with the purpose of preventing her from strengthening her part of the Barrier and thus freeing the rest of the sealed yao? Or to divert his attention? Or both?
Qiang Yong decided to heed his sister's advice and immediately contacted Su Ning via the communication array.

"Dr. Su?" He called out to him as a growing feeling of apprehension grew in his chest. What if he didn't respond like last time? What if he had already been kidnapped again? To the dragon's relief,  the answer came a few moments later.
"Emperor?"
Qiang Yong sighed with relief. Nothing bad had happened to the doctor yet.

"How did you know about Huang Jia?" The doctor questioned in surprise.
"Huang Jia!? Is she with you?" Qiang Yong was three times more surprised than him. Was this doctor involved in everything too?!
"Yes, she arrived, not even a shichen. She had a difficult birth and is in a terrible state. I thought about looking for you, it doesn't look good, she's still unconscious."

"Su Ning! Don't let anyone in there! We're leaving immediately!"
"Hu, right."
Qiang Yong turned to his sister. "Come with me! Huang Jia is at Dr. Su's clinic!"
"Aaaand, of all the possible places how did she get there???" Ren Loo laughed coldly. After everything Qiang Yong told him, nothing was impossible anymore.

"I don't know! But you have already realized that there is a connection between these events, haven't you? Liao Pu, inform the Empress of what happened and warn her to be on alert."
"Oh, and tell her not to let A-Shyu wander around the Fortress alone." Madam Ren also guided the secretary, following her brother through the matrix he opened for the clinic in one of the doors. Liao Pu only had time to nod before the two dragons disappeared through the door.

As soon as they opened the door, the brothers found themselves at the entrance to the clinic, in front of the large wooden gate. After knocking, An Shu came to greet them, paler than he normally was.
"How is Huang Jia?" The Emperor walked in unceremoniously and Ren Loo came right behind him, giving An Shu a wide smile.

"She's terrible! Her wings were torn off, it's a horrible thing to think about. She came alone, opened a portal here, I don't even know how. And because of her nervousness she went into labor and almost couldn't put it through." egg!"
The snake guided them to one of the rooms and knocked gently. She only opened it when she heard a very soft "Come in" coming from inside the room.

"It's the Emperor and Madam Ren,  doctor." An Shu announced them in a low voice. The doctor was sitting next to the patient. Her phoenix was very pale, contrasting with the fiery red hair spread over the pillow. There was a blood crystal floating over her chest, distributing energy throughout her body. And next to her was in a small warm cradle, an egg larger than the palm of a hand, yellow-orange in color.

Su Ning left them together so that when the phoenix woke up, she could be reassured by seeing the cub next to her. The doctor got up and went to the dragons.
"Did you know her?" Madam Ren questioned curiously.
"Knew her and Huang Ming." Su Ning responded. "I attended to her a long time ago, because of a problem with her moulting. But sometimes we communicated.  I helped deliver Huang Jia too."

"You're almost like a family doctor! And it's amazing how you know almost everyone!" Ren Loo inadvertently exclaimed. The doctor did not give attention to this and continued his story.
"She passed out as soon as she got here. There are internal injuries, lacerations on her back, arms and legs. There was also a lot of blood loss, so I left a blood crystal keeping her. The wings were cut off but I already applied the loan regenerative. They will grow in two days at most." This time he was very clear in explaining the situation to his companions, a credit to Qiang Yong.

Madam Ren approached the patient's bedside with a bitter expression. “Poor Huang Jia, she lost her mother and was still injured like this…”
Su Ning looked at her in fright. "Huang Ming... I was still going to contact her but you said she..."
The Emperor nodded. "They were both attacked on the way to the Barrier. Huang Ming did not survive."

The two dragons watched the sadness pass over Su Ning's face. When he was sad, his feelings came through easily. Losing a friend in such a cruel and senseless way... The Dragon Clan was not so close to the Phoenix, which was the main branch of the Bird Clan, but even so this loss was irreparable and they shared this feeling.

"Dr. Su, it is likely that Huang Jia is still in danger. With her mother's death, she is his successor and the only one who can strengthen the Barrier key now. The chimera that attacked her can track her here." In fact, we believe it is the same yao who tried to kidnap him." The Emperor clarified the situation.

"Would it be possible to transfer her to the Fortress? Not that your clinic isn't safe, but the killer could come here disguised as a patient and take advantage of that to finish what he started." Madam Ren clarified.
Su Ning analyzed the situation quickly. That made sense, so he agreed.

"Yes, we can transport her safely to the Fortress. She is no longer in any danger to her life."
The Emperor was inwardly pleased. He would take Huang Jia and along with her, the doctor. That way, neither of them would be caught again. While Su Ning and An Shu were making preparations for the move, he telepathically notified his subordinates to prepare the guest rooms. In less than a shichen, Huang Jia and her egg were transferred to a stretcher and taken to the Stronghold.

Just passing by to remind you that the eastern phoenix does not rise from the ashes like the western one.

Ren Loo: "Yong-er, have you noticed that almost everyone knows Dr. Su except us until that incident with mom?"

Qiang Yong: "No wonder, everyone knew I hated humans, so they avoided talking about him to us."

Ren Loo: "Eeeh! You hated it? You don't hate it anymore now? It was because of Dr. Su, right? Right?"

Qiang Yong: "No! Of course not! Humans are not trustworthy, much less this doctor! You've already seen how much he hides about his past!"

Ren Loo: "I think someone has gone soft haha."

Qiang Yong: "You'll see who's the softie here!!"
