"Why?" Ce Rang laughed bitterly. "Just because with the help of a yao you managed to beat me?" Ce Rang staggered a little. Su Ning had only destroyed the spiritual sword temporarily as he did not need to incapacitate the cultivator, but even so the pain and tingling sensation that spread from the core towards Ce Rang's meridians were persistent.

"No! Because you are a bad character and are encouraging an absurd rivalry between yao and humans!" Su Ning replied coldly. "This is not in line with the foundations of the Sect."
"And by what authority do you intend to expel me? You're not even a cultivator anymore!"
"I am no longer a cultivator, however long before Tung Shiu was killed, he gave me an Observer Plate." Su Ning took out a small white jade plate carved with a crow from his qiankun sleeve.

An observer was a person assigned to monitor the behavior of members of the Sect, even if they were not part of it. This person had full power to expel the members, even if they were some of the Elders  or the leader himself. There was only one such plaque and only one person could be an observer, having to pass the plaque on to a successor whenever he preferred, always in secrecy.

Generally, Sect members never knew who was a watcher until he took some drastic action. Ce Rang glared at him full of hatred. "You wouldn't dare!"
"Not only have you instilled this irrational hatred, but you have also harmed the cultivation of the younger members, prioritizing brute strength over the refinement of techniques. How can you consider yourself a good leader??"

Ce Rang retreated. The other was determined to remove him from his position! He didn't count on him being an observer! Everything was lost!
"From today onwards, you are no longer Zongzhu." Su Ning declared, tightly holding his jade tablet. As he said these words, Ce Rang's leader plate shattered. He was no longer the leader of the sect nor a member of the Sect.

"I won't forget, Su Ning! You will pay for this!" He snapped, fleeing angrily through the hole in the wall. He rushed over using his qinggong and disappeared from sight, as fast as a gust of wind. Qiang Yong sighed and returned to his human form. Su Ning timidly returned the sword to him then. He looked Qiang Yong in the eyes, his face clearly pink with embarrassment. The dragon was amused, his lover didn't even break a sweat fighting, but he was shaking all over to talk to him.

Sure enough, he had made some decision, but Qiang Yong suddenly felt apprehensive about this answer. Su Ning approached, his hands clenched so tensely that his knuckles were white.
"I..."
Qiang Yong placed a finger covering his lips. "Everything in good time. I guess we'll have to clean up this mess first and make it habitable again for Zhi Lu, hehe." He laughed, trying not to show his nervousness.

Su Ning nodded, relaxing a little, although deep down a feeling of disappointment arose. He wanted to be able to give his answer. The palace servants and the yao involved were gathered, everyone committed to helping and promptly got to work. Su Ning and Qiang Yong also assisted. For a doctor to work hard was already absurd to see, let alone an emperor.

However, it was clear that the two didn't care about their positions and there was no point in saying anything. Thus, the next day the palace had already been renovated and restored to what it was before, in fact, even better. Emperor Zhi Lu didn't know how to thank everyone, especially Qiang Yong. He knew that Emperor Yao was as wealthy or more wealthy than him.

So, he arranged a large payment in gold for the yao who helped them and offered them a banquet of thanks. Qiang Yong accepted that his guard members would receive their share of gold, but Huang Jia, An Shu, and the Dragon clan refused to be paid. While drinking a glass of wine during the party, Qiang Yong justified himself.

"As governments and allies, we must support each other in times like these." He took a sip. It was the first time he sat down to talk to Zhi Lu and he didn't find him as mediocre as before. He just seemed a little unsure, really. From the corner of his eye, he watched Su Ning, the Empress, and Huang Jia talking and laughing.

Since everything calmed down, the Empress was making a good campaign in favor of Qiang Yong to the doctor, to the point that he slightly suspected that she knew something. But the emperor wouldn't have told her everything about them, would he?
Ren Loo was nowhere to be found, she decided to take An Shu for a walk outside. It was already evening and she was eager to be alone with him.

"I need to have a serious talk with you."
An shu shuddered. He was staring at the starry sky and enjoying the calm, but Ren Loo's tone of voice scared him. What could it be now??
"My brother loves his master." She said bluntly and the snake stood frozen where it was. What she said??? He was stupefied.

"He also declared himself to him." She continued. "I hope you... don't make trouble for the two of them." At this point she hesitated. She knew that An Shu had a real adoration for the doctor, but would he accept that he had a romantic relationship? It was his life after all, no one could restrict it.

An Shu recovered his senses. He let out a light sigh and then chuckled softly.
"I won't create any problems, if Dr. Su reciprocates these feelings, of course. But if his brother forces him into something, I will interfere!"

"Ah! No! Qiang Yong gave him three days to respond. He gave the doctor plenty of room to make up his mind." She said laughing but did not rule out the possibility that in the face of a refusal, Su Ning would end up being confined for a period of time in the Fortress, even the Dowager Empress was determined to achieve this marriage.

"So that's why Dr. Su seemed so airy before...he must be thinking about it." He found himself again on a stone parapet.
Ren Loo approached calmly.
"There's also something else I wanted to tell you."
An Shu turned to her. what else could it be? He felt more anxious. Ren Loo took a deep breath.

"I like you too. An Shu, would you agree to marry me?" The dragon proclaimed all at once, without pausing to catch her breath. Unlike her brother, she wasn't going to wait three days. An Shu turned pale, then turned red, from his neck to his ears.

And with a "poof" he turned into a small white snake, falling unconscious to the ground.
Ren Loo "........."
Did he faint from happiness or fright???

Author's Note

I think the snake fainted was due to exhaustion, surprise and joy 😂. Poor thing, it was too much for him.
If it were me it would be the same way, but unfortunately I can't turn into a snake lol.
