Lang Ko growled in anger. How can she be so stupid?! She relaxed security after Dr. Su and that was everything the killer wanted! Although she could not blame herself for this, neither she nor Qiang Yong anticipated that he would be kidnapped, but rather possessed or subjected to a kind of mind control.
"GUARDS! GUARDS!" She shouted from the door as loud as she could.
"THERE IS NO TIME!" Qiang Yong grabbed the snake and threw himself out the window without hesitation. In mid-air he assumed an elegant, slender and powerful draconian form, much larger than Madame Ren's. He snaked through his hair holding the white snake in his claws."Hey snake! Can you still talk to the doctor?" He shouted, his voice was now much more powerful and serious when he transformed into a dragon. He was capable of making the heavens and earth tremble.
"No! That yao must have realized how he warned me and must have..."
What did this bastard do to him??? An Shu didn't even want to think."Anyway, before today's surgery he gave me a tracking talisman. So we have a way to find it. But how did he expect something like this to happen?" An Shu returned to human form and picked up what looked like a small dark blue glass sphere, from which four thin points emerged like a star. Hovering over his hand it pointed in a direction.
"I warned him today that he was being targeted by the yao who tried to kill the Empress. We just didn't know that he would be kidnapped but apparently his master is very foresighted." Qiang Yong responded with a slight tone of approval. It was the first time An Shu had heard the Emperor praise Su Ning and he was pleased with it. If even Dr. Su could get a compliment from the yao who hated humans the most, who would be his match?
The talisman rotated a little indicating that the raptor intended to keep following the mountain range instead of descending to the plains. As they approached the target, it began to emit a bright glow.
"I think I've located them!" Qiang Yong indicated a figure that stood out in the dusk. The dragon dove against the winged yao, so fast that he didn't even realize what hit him from behind. It was an owl. Wounded in the back by surprise he released his prey. At that moment Qiang Yong launched An Shu and he grabbed Su Ning in mid-air, assuming his giant form, the snake managed to wrap itself around the doctor and fell onto one of the mountain's terraces with almost no damage.
Qiang Yong reflected that that snake wasn't that useless after all. However, now he was having trouble with the owl. The yao was beside itself and tried to attack him with its claws, hitting him in the belly, where the scales were softest. The owl had high energy and didn't care about the wound that the dragon's claws made on its back.
Qiang Yong realized that this couldn't be the killer, it was just another victim under his control, but a yao like that wouldn't be able to receive a golem. So it was some kind of spell? Generally yao were very good at casting spells and charms, but not at breaking them.
In a case like this, Qiang Yong would just kill the other with a puff of flames, but he needed to obtain information from the control victim to get to the culprit. Otherwise this cycle would never come to an end. First he would have to capture it, although aerial combat was not easy. He tried to grab the owl, but it either decreased or increased in size, dodging its claws while counterattacking with sharp blows of air.
The dragon had to admit that capturing a suspect alive wasn't his strong suit.
An Shu returned to human form and analyzed Su Ning's body. Apparently the yao just knocked him unconscious by striking one of the acupuncture points, then he unlocked the lock so that he would soon wake up as he untied him."Su Ning! Wake up!" An Shu called him softly. The doctor opened his eyes slowly, recognizing the frightened assistant. He sat massaging his sore, rope-marked wrists.
"Thank you An Shu. Where is the kidnapper?"
"There!" The snake pointed to the sky, where the dragon and owl were playing cat and mouse."Oh!" Su Ning exclaimed. He saw that the Emperor also came along but was facing difficulties. "Let's get this over with quickly." He said blankly. "We'll need to get yao down here."
"Master, let the Emperor take care of this. You are already..."
Su Ning squinted his eyes, smiling."The Emperor is very powerful, but if he continues like this he will only lose his breath and the suspect will escape. This yao has an aerial advantage and is under the spell of the Shadow Theater control. Even if he bleeds to death, he will not to stop."
An Shu agreed unhappily. Reluctantly, he bit the wrist already injured by the ropes Su Ning offered him and drank some of the blood."What should I do now?" He asked then, licking the red blood that stained his lips with his forked tongue. Su Ning began to explain whether u plan.
In the sky battle, Qiang Yong still had a lot of stamina to fight, however it was not the same for his patience. His wounds regenerated quickly, unlike the owl, but the yao showed no signs of giving up.Every now and then he looked down trying to locate where the human and snake had fallen. As long as he wasn't dead, they could still escape. He needed to bring the doctor back alive at any cost! Then a large pillar of ice blocked the owl in mid-flight.
The yao dodged the pillar, only to almost be hit by another. Soon, several sharp pillars appeared from below and on the sides, trying to trap him. Qiang Yong looked at the source of ice. After watching the surgery he knew very well where this power came from, but wasn't it already almost exhausted? The serpent appeared over one of the sharp peaks, with more ice spears he closed the dome between them, cornering the yao.
Without giving a moment's respite, he threw sharp crystals, forcing the bird to land.
"Where's the doctor? Aren't you supposed to be taking care of him? What are you doing?" Qiang Yong flew towards him.
"Trapping a bird in an ice cage, that's what he said." An Shu laughed.Qiang Yong frowned. The yao was indeed now surrounded by ice spears but they were not completely closed.
"I think you left the cage door open." The dragon grumbled, but not for long.
As soon as the yao finally landed, intimidated by the spears coming from above, Su Ning was waiting for him below. With a circular motion, he threw seven paper talismans around the yao and forcefully applied one to his forehead as fast as the blink of an eye. The yao let out a shrill scream as a dark shadow detached itself from its body and the talismans around it shook in a constant frenzy. The owl fell unconscious to the ground and the talisman on its forehead disintegrated.
However, the shadow remained attached to the talisman circle.
Qiang Yong and An Shu landed close together, the dragon more surprised than ever. He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by the shadow's evil laughter.
"Haha, you're a doctor, Dr. Su, but you'll never stop being a cultivator. I remember you gave me a lot of trouble... do you still pursue that stupid ideal of not taking any lives?"The shadow approached the doctor, but was unable to get very close due to the talisman barrier.
"Why did you try to kill the Empress?" Su Ning didn't move, keeping his hands on his sleeves in a reflexive stance.
"Now, you should ask why I'm after you now. The Empress was just a test, which I would use to get the Emperor next. What about you? What do I want from you? I was surprised to find- it after so long!"Qiang Yong was furious. His mother had suffered all that just so they could test a way to murder him! And now this yao treated it with so much disregard.
"Your sole objective is to kill the Dragon Emperor." Su Ning muttered to himself. "I may be a cultivator, but I have nothing you can use against him.""Are you sure doctor?" The shadow laughed, then let out a long, noisy sigh. "Today you won, for the third time, hehe. This is fun. I hope A-Yong doesn't kill you by then to avoid problems. If you're still alive, I still have business with you."
Su Ning raised his eyebrows in irritation. "I don't usually lie. I really don't have anything you can use, not even a spiritual weapon."
The shadow laughed and vanished into the air, before giving a wave to Qiang Yong.
"See you soon, Emperor!"Author's Note
What the hell! This time they almost made it! Oh pretentious, slippery little fellow. Worse than now there is more reason for Qiang Yong to distrust Su Ning than before... just now that they were getting along...😓
