"Hey, hey there she is!" Vic says causing me to pick up my head. I couldn't stop thinking about Caroline and I kissing. I could, oddly enough, still feel her lips on mine.
I lift up my hand, waving awkwardly looking between her, Travis and Jack. My eyes look between them and then find Travis tilting her head looking at me oddly. I tear my eyes away quickly and then to the ground. Although as I do I see him chuckle to himself it seems and looks down. His hands in his pockets.
"Where's Andy?" I ask, picking up my head. My eyes instantly go to Jack. His smile drops and he turns his head to Vic and Travis. I tilt my head to the side picking up on his switch up and raise a brow. My face softening.
All of them looking at each other. Even Travis now. His smile dropped too.
"So, um about that kiddo," Jack starts, tearing his eyes from the two other firefighters. I look at him and clench my jaw. "Andy was transferred to station 23 for a while."
My eyes go wide, confusion washing over me. She was just here yesterday. I talked to her last night. I slept here last night and this morning everything seemed fine. I don't understand.
"Wh-What?" It's the only thing I could get out looking at the three of them.
"You can still hang out here though. Don't think you can't," Vic quickly says, giving a warm smile. My eyes flicking to her. I nod slowly and drop my head to the concrete. I bite the corner of my lip and nod again. Footsteps approach me. "Come with me."
Vic's hand slips into mine and she pulls lightly. I nod and begin walking. We head into the station and head up the stairs into Andy's bunk. We get in and Vic shuts the door, turning to face me.
"Breath. Take it all in. You're okay. She's okay," Vic says easily. I nod looking at her as she keeps her distance. My fingers digging into the straps of my bag. "There's been a problem and she got moved. It's not long term. Just for a while."
"But why? She was just here this morning," I said, trying to figure this out. But I didn't have all the pieces to this puzzle. Vic nods slowly.
"After you left. The chief came and moved her. We have a new chief. She even said it was temporary. There's been a few conflicts and there trying to clear it all up I guess."
"Conflicts with Andy?" I raise a brow. Vic looks distraught now and fidgets with her fingers for a second before dropping them.
"Yes and no. I don't know the story but I promise she's going to come back to 19. She'll still come home to you and-"
"I think I should just go home," I say easily cutting the woman off. Her eyes slightly widen and her brows raise as she slowly nods her head.
"Are you sure? You're more than welcomed to hang out here Y/n."
I nod and give a light smile. "I have homework and stuff." I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to feel in the way. I don't think I really am even when Andy is here but it feels weird being here without Andy. The only reason I do come here is because of Andy. I sink my teeth into my bottom lip hearing the door open. Vic holds it open and I walk towards her and out the door. I head towards the exit and feel her following.
