Andy smiles down at Y/n, placing a blanket over top of the girl who passed out on the couch at the station. There was a tense feeling in the fire station. From everybody. The hostage situation making everyone on edge. Andy hasn't really said much. Her focus was on Y/n who hasn't said two words since the hospital.

A low sigh escapes Andy's lips as she falls back onto the chair in the room with Y/n. Her eyes close for a moment before reopening and looking at the sleeping girl. Footsteps heard coming in. Andy turns her head and locks eyes with Jack's concerned ones. Andy gives a small smile and pushes herself up out of the chair, heading out of the room. Jack already exiting. The two heading over towards the kitchen.

"Should she be sleeping?" Jack asks, pointing to the room the two just left. Andy nods her head and places her hands on the counter top, dropping her head.

"Amelia said it was okay. I just can't for a while," Andy admits, closing her eyes.

Jack nods his own head and looks at Andy, dropping his arm to his side. "You okay? I know today was rough for every one but you got the heat of it."

Andy bites her bottom lip, tears threatening to rise. She picks up her head and throws it back, looking up at the ceiling. "They could've killed us. Could've shot Y/n the moment they saw her."

"But they didn't," Jack says, knowing Andy had a point. "Everyone's okay."

"Doesn't mean I can't stop thinking about the what could have happened-" Andy pauses and glances over to Jack. "That girl... She sent her friend for help while she put her life on the line for us, for me. I-" The woman drops her head again. Jack stays silent before reaching over and placing his hand on Andy's back.

"She cares about you Andy. That was obvious that day she was at that fire. She tried to go into that house just because she saw you go in then proceeded to have a panic attack because she was scared of losing you."

Andy stays silent. Her brown eyes linger on the counter top knowing Jack was right. But that's the risk of the job. That's why there's a team but sometimes things happen.

"Speaking of which-" Andy pauses, pushing herself away from the counter. Jack's hand slowly sliding off the woman's back. "I told Y/n I want to adopt her and I want you to be the person she goes to if something does happen to me."

Jack steps back a step. His eyes going wide, his head tilting.

"You can say no but I just... She spent time with you. It seemed like out of everyone it would make the most sense and you two have similar stories. Both in the foster system I just- If something happens to me I want you to take her in."

"Nothings going to happen to you," Jack says, looking away from Andy. "What happened to Miller will not happen to you."

"Jack-"

"I can't lose you either," Jack says, in a trembling whisper as his head picks up. His eyes instantly locking with Andy's. A sad expression spreads her face. Her gaze softening, her eyes blink for a second as she nods. "You know damn good and well I love you. I always have, that didn't just stop when you didn't want to marry me."

"We grew from that," Andy whispers, glancing over her shoulder to the room, about 20 steps away from them where Y/n was asleep. "I wasn't ready to do that then."

"You married Sullivan and then took in a kid-" Jack pauses and puts up his hands. "I know, I know that's not fair. But I just- I love that kid and I know losing you would ruin her. Doesn't matter who takes her in when you're the one she loves Andy."

Andy's brown eyes tear up, her fingers messing with each other on the counter top. Her eyes flick between Jack's soft ones shaking her head. Jack reaches over and places his left hand on top of Andy's hands.
