"Sorry it took me so long. Coach kept me back about some plays. I know it took longer than we talked about," Joey apologized after finally coming out the front doors of the school.

"It's okay. I was sketching anyways," I say which is true. Caroline and I hung out for an hour in the art room. Talking mostly. Well she did most of the talking, I sort of just sit there and listen but it's okay. I like hearing her crazy stories. Her life was like a movie sometimes. But when she left I just sat there sketching, drawing waiting on Joey. Tuck and Caroline already left.

"Any good drawings I should see?" Joey asks, a smile thinning onto his lips. I shake my head, looking at the ground as we walk.

"Not yet," I say quietly. Out of the corner of my eye I see the boy nod. The two of us walk in silence for a while. Joey was a nice guy. Always there when you needed him. I still haven't really talked much to him about what happened to him with the foster system and we haven't discussed much about me in it either. I think that's why I felt safe with him. He didn't push for information or manipulate it out of you. Tuck and Caroline don't do it either but Caroline does have her ways, but then again out of anyone I am closer to Caroline. We have a special bond it feels like.

"Here we are," Joey says as we round the corner. I pick up my head and my eyes go wide. "Welcome to the annual Seattle Fair Y/n!" My eyes go wider as I look around as we draw closer. People were scattered everywhere. Booths were set up with different games and prizes ranged from a whole variety of things. It was endless. There was so many different food trucks and a bunch of rides going. Music played and people laughed and talked walking around.

"A fair?" I ask, still shocked. Out of the corner of my eye I see Joey nod, smiling. "I've never been yo a fair."

Joey's jaw drops. "You've never been to a fair?" He gets excited as we stop walking. I turn my head towards him as he places his hands on his head, shock spread out across his face. I chuckle slightly. "That's not going to do Y/n. I have to take you on all the rides! And we have to play the games! Oh and the food! You have to try a funnel cake! It's the best!"

"A funnel cake?" I ask, tilting my head. His jaw drops even wider.

"We better start now. Or we'll be here till midnight," Joey says reaching down and taking my hand into his. I tense at the feeling but walk with him hurriedly as we head over to a booth. There my eyes meet with Dr. Bailey's and Dr. Schmitt.

"Hey Miranda," Joey says, letting go of my hand before he says anything. He slips off his bag and puts it behind the booth where Bailey stands turning around, smiling lightly.

"Hi Joey. Hi Y/n," Bailey says, her voice warming the moment she sees me. "I didn't know you were coming tonight." Her eyes were back on the boy.

"I thought I'd give Y/b the full fair experience," Joey said, smiling. He points to my bag. "We can keep that behind here. Miranda will watch it and Schmitt. It'll be safe."
