It became a daily routine for Siren to pick up Aiden from his mansion and drop him at school and again pick him up in the evening. She was afraid that he would be kidnapped again by the enemies of Raven.

She knew she should not be concerned about this matter but she couldn’t stop herself from doing this. The mere thought of someone hurting him made her feel uneasy. He was an unexpected warmth in her life which she didn’t plan to lose.

Twenty minutes had already passed. Aiden would have rushed out from the school campus by this time. Siren saw the children getting picked up by their parents and their chauffeur. She frowned and got down from her bike.

Siren made her way towards the entrance and showed her visitor pass to the security which Raven got for her after the kidnapping incident which allowed her to visit and pick up Aiden anytime from the school.

Of course, she glared at him for half an hour when she saw the term “mother to be” stated in the relation column in the visitor's pass. Seriously, how could such a prestigious school even allow this silly thing. But what would they do if the person is Raven Grey, who is the largest shareholder of the Imperial Academy.

Siren searched for Aiden, but seeing him nowhere in sight, she went to the playground area. She saw Aiden sitting on the bench with his head lowered. She went near and called him.

“Aiden”

Hearing no reply from him she squatted in front of him and raised his chin. Her eyes narrowed seeing the ugly blue bruises at the corner of his mouth. The wound looked like someone punched him with full force leading to swell and a small tear of skin on his upper lips.

“What happened?” she questioned him calmly

Aiden is a child who is emotionally strong because of his upbringing, so he didn’t cry even when he got beaten up today. But seeing Siren as if the dam got broken, tears welled up from his eyes and slided towards his cheeks dampening the broken wound on his lips.

He tried hard to hold up his tears but in vain. He choked up from his tears and his nose turned red from crying. Unable to bear the sight of him crying, Siren hugged him in her arms and patted the little boy’s back.

“Shhh… it's ok. Don’t cry” Siren comforted him for a long time until his cries turned into weak sobs.

She didn’t  question further, giving him time to settle down his emotion. She took him to the nearby clinic and treated his wounds. Fortunately the wound was not infected and the doctor prescribed medicines to apply on his cheeks to reduce the swelling.

Siren took her phone out and clicked the particular number on the screen, the contact name was displayed as Mr. Grey. She hesitated for a moment but when she saw Aiden who was silently eating the jelly cake in her bike seat she started typing.

“I am taking Aiden to the shed and will drop him at the mansion tonight ” She waited for a minute. Her phone beeped indicating the receival of the message.

The reply she got was simple “Mm”

She closed her phone and tucked it to her jeans. She took Aiden to the shed. Aiden didn’t talk on the way which is very much contradictory to his usual self. Siren missed the cheery little boy.

When Siren entered the shed with Aiden’s little backpack a tall figure rushed past her and lifted Aiden to high.

“Little fireball” Alex felt joy when he saw the little boy as if his dark and dull days were painted with rainbow colours.

“Let him down, Dexy. He is hurt” Siren said to him as she placed the backpack on the bonnet of the nearby car.

Alex was shocked when he heard that. Just now he was immersed in the joy of seeing the little figure. He didn't notice his face at all. He settled Aiden in his arms and observed his face, there was a bruise at the side of his cheek which was smeared with something yellow.

“Which bastard hurt my little boy?” Alex seethed in anger.

Aiden shook his little head sadly and nuzzled in his neck. Alex's heart hurt from seeing him so silent. He is always sweet and cheery calling him grandpa, playing around the shed and running here and there but now he was like a wounded puppy.

Siren took Aiden from his arms and said, “I will talk to him”

Alex didn’t refuse because he knew Aiden likes her the most, but his anger didn’t dissipate when he thought about the ugly bruise on the boy's fair skin. He nodded and left the place leaving them alone.

When Alex left Siren turned her head and looked at Aiden who had his head down and fiddled with his fingers. She moved near him and patted his soft dark hair.

“Will you tell me what happened?”

Aiden kept silent for a moment before raising his head and looked at her with his teary eyes.
