Chapter 31

Kate pov...

"Please tell me you aren't saying no because of me..." I whisper looking at my fingers feeling guilty. He sighs but his face says it all... "Chris... I can't let you say no to this... This is your career we are talking about..." I say and he sighs and shakes his head... "It is okay... There will be other movies..." He says forcing a smile at me... 

"Chriiiis..." I groan and he shakes his head again... "I am not leaving you..." He says and i tear up... It is incredibly sweet but i think he is doing it for the wrong reasons... "You can't... I forgave you... It is okay to..." I start to say, and he sits up and takes my hand pulling me into him... "Yes, i can... I am not doing it... You are more important..." He says hugging me close... "I am not leaving you again..." He whispers and i hold onto him crying... "Chris... This is different..." I say sobbing. "No... No, it is not..." He mumbles and i pull back... "Yes, it is..." I whisper and he sighs... "Kate... It is okay... I dont mind having some more time off..." He says smirking and i sigh... 

"You can't stop your life because of me..." I say and he chuckles... "Yes, i can... Kate... I rather spend my time here with you... Making sure you are healing than being on a film set in the middle of nowhere..." He says and i sigh... "I will be fine..." I mumble but he shakes his head...

"Nope... It is not happening... You are not getting rid of me..." He says smirking and i sigh as i can't let go of the guilt even if he says it is okay... His life should not stop because mine is in shambles... I think he seems to notice as he speaks up taking my hand in his again, rubbing his thumb over the back over my hand "Let it go sweetheart... It is fine... It is okay..." He says and i look at him... "Now dry your tears... This is not something to cry about... It is just a movie..." He says and i nod..."I just dont want you to resent me for missing a great opportunity..." I whisper and he smiles and pulls me laying down with him pulling me on his chest... 

"I will never resent you for that... It is my choice... I rather be here with you..." He says and i take in a deep breath as i get comfortable on his chest... I hum as he plays with my hair one hand on my back rubbing up and down... 

"You can't stay home forever..." I whisper and i lift my head looking at him... "But i can for now..." He whispers back a soft smile on his lips... "But..." I start to say and before i can even continue i let out a yelp as Chris starts to tickle me..."CHRIS!!! STOOOP..." I squeal but he does not stop as i start to wriggle and squirm to get out of his grip... It is no use his grip on me is firm... 

"AAAH STOOOP CHRIS!!!" I squeal again laughing so hard, and in an attempt to defend myself i pinch him... "AU!" He yells laughing but he doesn't stop... But me pinching him has caught him off guard and has loosened his grip on my so i take the opportunity and make a break for it... But Chris is still quick and is up and chasing me in a second... I run to the kitchen making sure the kitchen island is between us...

Chris smirks shaking his head... "You still dont fight fair..." He says smirking while rubbing the spot i pinched. I giggle and smirk back... "Yeah... I guess some things never change..." I say smirking and as Chris slowly moves around the kitchen island i move to try and keep a distance... "Why are you moving sweetheart?" He asks with the biggest grin on his face and i chuckle... "I dont know... Why are you?"  I say back as we now have circled the kitchen island... 

He chuckles to and keeps moving... So, so do i... But all of a sudden Dodger comes out of nowhere and jumps up to me distracting me for a quick second. Chris uses this moment and i try to get away, but it is too late, and he scoops me up throwing me over his shoulder...  "Thanks for the assist, bud" Chris says laughing as i dangle over his shoulder... "Traitor..." I yell and Dodger jumps up barks before licking my face as i hang upside down... 

"Chris put me down..." I yell and Chris laughs harder... "No i dont think i will..." He says and starts spinning... Dodger is barking excitedly jumping around us while Chris just spins me around laughing... I can't help but just laugh and squeal as i try to get Chris to stop... "Chris! I am getting dizzy!" I squeal but i can't help but laugh... 

Chris stops spinning and i push myself up. Chris lets me glide down his body until we are nose to nose... Chris smiles looking me in the eyes and i swallow hard as the air is thick... My heart is beating like crazy... We stare at each other our lips hovering over each other... My arms wrapped around his neck as he is still holding me tightly pressed against him... His strong arms pressing me against his muscular body... My body feeling on fire as Chris invades all my senses... His scent, his warmth... It is all so intoxicating... 

I dont know what happens or what i am thinking but i softly press my lips on his... Just for a second as i quickly pull back. I turn bright red as i am sure i have overstepped... But just as i want to apologize he crashes his lips on mine. What follows is a breathtaking kiss... Passionate, desperate and amazing...
