You broke me for nothing...

Chapter 51

Chris pov...

"Where is your girl?" Seb asks me when i walk into the makeup trailer... Normally Kate would join us. She would stay with us chatting until we were done. She then would go to her trailer with Dodger... Dodger who now runs up to Seb and the makeup girls for some attention... 

"Goodmorning to you to..." I say a little annoyed. "Wow... Somebody did not get his morning cuddles..." Seb says smirking and i roll my eyes... "I am sorry... Just worried... Kate wanted to stay home today..."  I say and Seb smiles... "She finally had enough of you...?" He jokes and i look at him shocked... Seb sees, and his face turns serious... "It was a joke..." He says and i sigh again... "Sorry..." I mumble and Seb stands up and walks over to me... "What is going on...?" He asks and i shrug my shoulders. I let out a sigh... "I have no clue... I have this nagging feeling something is up with Kate... But she won't talk to me." I mumble and Seb takes a deep breath.

"Okay... You got all that from her wanting to stay back at the house?" He says and i shrug my shoulders again... "Chris... She has been through a lot... Maybe she just really needed a day alone..." He says and i sigh again... "It feels like she is pulling away..." I mumble and Seb chuckles. "That woman loves you... I can see it in her eyes...But is it so hard to believe that she just does not want to be around all this crazy for a day... Maybe she just wants a day not cooped up in a trailer." Seb says and i take a deep breath... "She is going shopping..." I mumble and Seb pats my shoulder... "See... She just wants to get out for a bit..." Seb says and i nod. "You are probably right..." I mumble and Seb chuckles... "If it really is weighing on your mind, talk to her tonight... Tell her how you feel..." Seb says and i nod... "I dont want to lose her..." I whisper and he smiles. "You won't... She just wanted a me day..." Seb says and i nod... 

Seb goes back to his chair and i sit down in mine to have my makeup done. "Seb is right, sweetie... Us girls need a day to ourselves every now and then..." Dorothy says and i smile at her... "I guess you are right..." I mumble but i can't shake the nagging feeling something is up. I pull out my phone and text Kate... I quickly get an answer back. It makes me smile. At least she is answering me...

The day is going by slow... I text Kate every now and then and she tells me she has just stayed at the house... That she misses me and Dodger and that she loves me... I smile at that... Yesterday she told me she loved me for the first time.... I know she did... She showed me in actions instead of words. But to hear her say it was the best feeling in the world... Thinking about that makes me feel like an idiot for thinking she was pulling back from me. But still, i could not shake this weird feeling. 

The day goes long which annoys me. I had hoped that we would stop early as today was even a hotter day than before. Dodger had been staying in Kate's trailer alone to not overheat and i would check up him between takes... My assistant had walked him in the morning like Kate normally would do and during lunch he had been spoiled by the girls from makeup. 

Then finally we could go home. I was so tired. The heat is exhausting. I can barely keep my eyes open in the car. But as i walk through the front door the house is quiet... Dodger runs in making a b line for the living room and when i follow him i smile as i find Kate asleep on the couch... I walk over to her and sit down next to her. Dodger is looking at her tilting his head... "Place..." I whisper to him, and he huffs but goes to lay on his pillow... I kiss her forehead, and she wakes up stretching herself out... "Hello sweetheart..." I whisper and she blushes. God she is beautiful... Especially when she blushes... I kiss her and lay down next to her nuzzling into her. At least she is not rejecting my cuddles.

"Hi... How was your day?" She whispers and i sigh... "Hot and long..." I mumble letting out a soft moan as i feel her hand in my hair massaging my scalp. "God that feels good..." I mumble and hum again. "How was yours?" I whisper and i think she freezes for a second... "Yeah it was good..." She whispers back... I lift my head and smile. I want her to know it is okay... So, i kiss her... "Good..." I say and she takes a deep breath... "Have you had dinner yet?" She asks and i shake my head... "Why dont you go and take a shower and i will fix us something to eat..." She says and i lay back down and nuzzle into her again... "In a minute... Need some cuddles first... I missed you..." I whisper and she continues massaging my scalp... "Missed you to..." She softly mumbles back...

"Can you please come to work with me tomorrow..." I ask and lift my head again... She smiles and puts her hand on my cheek. For a moment neither one of us speaks. "I will come with you to set tomorrow..." She whispers and i let out a sigh of relief. "I just needed a day..." She says and she sounds like she is about to cry... "That is okay, sweetheart..." I whisper and hug her closer... 

"Chris..." She says and i hum... "Please dont take this the wrong way... But you stink..." She whispers and when i peak at her she is bright red. I smirk... "It was a hot day outside..." I mumble and push myself up and give her another kiss... "I will go take a shower..." I say smirking and she blushes even more... I get off the couch, and she sits up. I can't resist... The whole day i thought about kissing her so i kiss her again... "Shower... Now... Please..." She mumbles into the kiss and i start laughing... "Fine... But order some dinner... Because when i get out of the shower i want to be lazy and cuddle on the couch..." I whisper and she nods... "Okay..." She whispers and i give her another quick kiss before going to take a shower...

I take a quick shower and get changed. When i walk back into the living room i smile as Kate is sitting on the couch with Dodger all cuddled up. He looks at me all proud for stealing my spot. I chuckle and shake my head. "I know... You missed her to..." I say and he barks making Kate giggle... "But i need some time with my girl, bud..." I say and he barks again... Kate moves Dodger to the other side and opens op her blanket for me... "I can cuddle with you both..." She says and i smile and drop myself next to her... 

The rest of the evening is just spend cuddled on the couch eating the pizza she ordered. God i missed her today... It is crazy how quickly i had gotten used to having her around. I love it... I am happy she is coming to set with me again tomorrow. We turn into early and fall asleep cuddling. But the highlight of my day... Her telling me she loves me right before she falls asleep.
