We left the building.

It was late.
The sun was setting.
When the air weren't filled with the smell of explosives, guns and sweat it would have been such a lovely evening.

The whole grounds looked like a battlefield.
Body's, cars, hiding spots.
But it actually looked like they had managed to arrest most of them.

Nonetheless we were careful.
We were on our way to one of the trucks as a couple feet away something exploded.
We hid behind a flipped car.

„I saw you Angel! This isn't over! You can't escape!"

Graves voice send shivers over my whole body.
The dark voide of rage boiling.

„What? Now you're gonna hide? You won't help them?"

Them?
Who?

I shot up from behind the car.
Simon hissed and tried to pull me back.
But I knew he wouldn't just shoot me.

I looked over to the other side of the field.
Graves was alone.
Except a man kneeling in front of him.
His head hanging down.
His body only held up because Graves was holding him by his hair.

I looked closer.
This was Merlin.
All beaten up.
Barely conscious.

I could hear my heart beat in my ears.
Everything else seemed to go silent.
I ignored Simon, Vincent and the others that came up behind us.

I couldn't hear any of their screaming.

I jumped over the car and slowly walked up to Graves.
I could see his lips moving.
He was talking.
But I couldn't hear anything but my heartbeat.

My eyes fixed on Merlin's bloody face.
He blinked up to me as if he wanted to apologise.
I stopped a couple feet away from them.

„That's enough"

My voice was calm.
I was calm.
I was done with being scared.
This would end here.

„Trying to tell me what to do again?"

He snarled sarcastically.

„This is about us. Let him go Phillip."

„I'm not stupid Princess"

„I'll take his place"

„Angel no! Don't! Please go."

„Shut up Merlin."

„Oh you care to much my love"

„I said let him go."

„What if I-„

Phillip held his gun to Merlin's head.
My vision was shaky.

„Phillip stop it.
You're too smart to think this will help you"

He looked down to Merlin.
As if he was considering his options.

„Let him go. I will take his place without a fight"

I stepped closer.
Graves looked nervous.

„Come on Phillip. This is about us isn't it?"

He pulled Merlin to his feet.

„it's you're lucky day"

He hissed and waved me over to them.

I walked over.
I ripped the ear peace of the com out because I didn't wanted to hear all of them scream at me.
I had to do this.

Graves pushed Merlin away and with the same motion he got a hold of my arm.
He pulled me to his chest.
My back facing him.

The cold metal of the gun pressing against my temple.

„Go Merlin"

„I can't leave you here"

„I said go. Please. For me"

I offered him a small smile.

I wasn't afraid.
Not anymore.
Never again.
