(Chapter 42) Finally A Clue And Finding Her

Living without Rayne was driving me crazy.

I spent my days performing my royal duties and my nights searching endlessly for Rayne, still no information turned up.

I had contacted Dario's dad to find out if he had any information but he told me that Dario was nowhere to be found.

Everyone I spoke to always told me that Dario had just disappeared.

Tonight there was a ball going on in the palace to celebrate Everly's engagement. Being her brother, I was forced to attend.

Hearing the ongoing noise in the palace, from the construction, I couldn't even concentrate properly, plus I had a terrible headache that refused to go away.

Taking my coat and going out, I went to my car, driving off to God knows where for a little while.

As I reached a bright light on the beach, I stopped to check it out.

Jumping out my car, I saw a young guy sitting on the beach, building something in the sand, with stuff he had collected.

Admiring it from afar, he walked over to me and handed it to me.

Upon closer inspection, I realised it was a wine bottle with a ship inside and on the ship was a note written there.

It said "My beloved Kellen, I miss you so much" and it was initialed R.

Taking that guy's shoulders in my hands, I asked "Where did you get this from?"

Looking up at me, he said "I found it near the beach on the other island, where I work"

"Can you give me directions to that island please?"

Nodding his head, he said, "Sure, No problem"

After he told me how to go there, he looked at me before saying, "Can you please not mention our encounter or say anything to anyone about where you are going, if you really want to save her?"

Getting my promise, he got up and walked away.

Going to the harbor, I paid for a speed boat and went to find my wife.

As I reached the island, I hid the boat away in the long grass and went to look for Rayne.

Seeing a house close by, I went to investigate.

Once I was near enough, I saw 2 guards, guarding the entrance.

Laying low in between the trees, I waited to see what was going on, that's when I saw her, my beautiful Rayne was laughing at whatever Dario was saying to her.

Kissing her on her head, he walked out, leaving her alone.

As I watched her carefully, I saw her come to the window and put her hands together in prayer, saying "Oh please Lord, let Kellen find me faster because I cannot take anymore of this pretending", then she put her hands to her face and cried.

There was no way for me to go closer without alerting the guards, so I waited for a while.

Throwing a stone in the opposite direction of me, the guards heard it and ran there. As quick as possible, I ran and jumped through Rayne's window, terrifying her.

As quick as I could, I went and put my hand over her mouth to silence her.

Finally seeing me, she throws her hands around my neck as tears flood her eyes. "Kellen, you are here", she said

Indicating to be silent, she nodded her head.

Putting my hand on her tummy, I smiled at her.

Just as I was about to speak to her, we heard Dario's voice.

Pushing me in between her clothes in her wardrobe, the door opened with Dario walking in.

"Hi babe, I wanted to know if you wanted to go for a walk on this wonderful night?", Dario asked Rayne

"Yes that would be lovely, can I take a shower and change before we leave Dario", Rayne purred

"Sure that's no problem babe. I will come and pick you up in 15 minutes ok", Dario told her before going out

Once the door, closed, Rayne came to her closet, opening it, she caught me and kissed me over and over again, whispering about how much she missed and loved me as tears kept flowing down her face.

She then whispered in my ears, "Please be silent Kellen, I will go with him and come back, so he doesn't get suspicious. I have to pretend, to get out of this mess, I hope you understand my king?"

Getting my approval, she went into the bath and came out, standing in front of me and dressing up.

Thinking to myself, I can't wait to get my wife back home, I heard a knock on the door.

Quickly Rayne closed her wardrobe and said, "Come in", to Dario, who was standing there with his mouth opened as he looked at my wife from head to toe.

Wanting so badly to come out and rip his head out, I knew I couldn't because it was basically 1 against about 50 men and I knew I stood no chance against them, if I got caught, they would kill me and take Rayne away again or kill us both.

I needed a plan first to get Rayne off the island to safety before I confronted Dario.

"Are you ready to leave", Dario asked Rayne and she told him that she was.

Taking her hand, they both walked out of the room.

For about 2 hours they were gone and I hoped to God, my queen was fine,when suddenly the door opened with Rayne walking in and Dario next to her.

Holding her in his arms as he hugged her, he told her to go to bed and he would see her in the morning.

Smiling at him, she told him "Good night" before she went to bed.

Once he was out, Rayne jumped out of bed and ran to her closet, opening it and catching me in a big hug.

"Kellen, we need to get out of here as soon as possible please, I want to go home with you", she pleaded

Taking my phone out my pocket, I looked at the numerous miss calls I had due to my phone being on silent all this time.

Clearing it, I dialed my main guards at the palace, to get them to come here, while Rayne and I made our escape back.

Coming out the closet, I went and sat next to Rayne as she layed down on the bed.

After a few minutes, I heard her soft snores indicating that she had fallen asleep already.
