Part 26 - THE UNIFORM SAGA Part 1

''I don't want detention for the rest of my school days Sir'' Callum began grimly

''Good boy so you know it makes sense to change back into a uniform right?'' Sean said smugly ''I knew you wouldn't get far with this boy''

''Sir let me finish please'' Callum said ''Of course i don't want detention for the rest of my school life. However i refuse to wear a uniform again and so i have no choice but to take the punishment''

Sean was fuming ''I see'' he said ''so that's you and Louis on detention for life. What about the rest of you?''

The other boys were nervous and not as brave to face detention for such a long time as Callum was

''Can you give us 24 hours to make a decision please Sir?'' Ryan asked ''Let us stay in our own clothes today and tomorrow if we decide to return in uniforms there is no real problem is there. But if we are still refusing to wear a uniform then we have to accept the punishment''

Sean considered this for a moment. He wasn't keen on making deals with the boys but he had to admit that this might be the only option in this case. He was keen to get on with things today and not waste more time on this

''Ok'' he said reluctantly ''I give you one days grace to wear your own clothes and decide. You come back in a uniform tomorrow i am willing to forget it and there will be no punishment at all. But if you are not in a uniform then you join Louis and Callum on maximum detention punishment. I would recommend you choose wisely boys. Detention for such a long time won't be fun at all you can ask Reece about that he knows''

Reece was secretly enjoying this though. He was excited about more boys doing a long time on detention like he was. He knew he was mean to feel like this but he couldn't help it. He was hoping more boys would refuse to wear uniforms and get punished along with Callum and Louis and it would make detention better if he had lots of company!

Callum wasn't the least bit put off by Sean's threat of detention for so long. He was even more determined not to give in and he called a meeting later. Every single boy in the school, except Darren, attended the meeting on the school field and Callum used a  megaphone to talk to them all 

''Boys you all listening?'' he demanded ''So i say anyone who hates wearing a uniform join me in a protest to abolish school uniforms. Tomorrow come in wearing your own clothes if you're brave enough''

''i hate wearing a uniform but i do not want detention for life!'' Reece called out

''Well Reece you already have so much detention you may as well just do ''life'' anyway'' Callum said with a smirk ''Think about it boys detention for life only means until the end of your school days and that's all''

''But some of us don't want an extra three hours every night at school'' Josh said nervously ''This is why i am considering obeying Mr Lewis and coming back in a uniform tomorrow. I already have 3 months on detention and that is bad enough''

''Ok you wimp Josh!'' Callum said harshly ''And what about you other boys then?''

''Oh i'm staying in my own clothes Callum'' Louis said at once

''Good boy Louis. I'm sorry i mocked you and called you Louise before you are a proper tough boy it turns out''

''Well i refuse to cut my hair so i am serving detention for life anyway'' Louis said ''i may as well keep  wearing my clothes it makes no difference'' 

''Nice one and the rest of you?''

''I'll do it too'' Billy said ''I'll keep wearing my own clothes and serve detention''
