At Waterloo Hill school Graham Andrews sipped his coffee while he read the morning papers. Soon it would be time to go to class to start another day. Graham was in his mid 50's and ex army. A very strict teacher who used discipline he had learned in the army to control a class. He was a large, physically imposing man with a beard and a mustache.

He was also a bitter man. At his age he felt he deserved a promotion. He would have liked to be the headmaster but failing that he should be the deputy head. Instead he was just a senior teacher. It wasn't good enough and he feared that at his age maybe it was already too late for a promotion

A car pulled into the car park and Sean got out. Here he was again paying another visit to his old school. But he couldn't really say that he missed it here all that much he was much happier at Grange Road. But it was nice to come back and see the place from time to time. Last time he was here he came to take Billy away and this time he was here with the intention of taking another person away

Only this time he was quite sure that, unlike Billy, this time the person would be very happy to go with him. He had come to see his old friend Graham. They had got on very well when Sean worked at the school with him. It was his intention today to ask Graham to come to Grange Road and be the deputy head to replace Sandra. Sean had always had Graham in mind to be his deputy at some point. He knew Graham was strict and was exactly the sort of deputy he wanted. He would help Sean control the boys. His army background also impressed Sean a lot

Now that he owned Grange Road school he could finally run it totally the way he wanted which included having the deputy head he wanted. And he knew Graham was bitter and wanted a promotion. He would never get that at Waterloo Hill. Not with Marsden in charge. She preferred having a female deputy rather than a male

Sean made his way inside and Mrs Billings, the school secretary, was at her desk. Billings and Sean had never got on when he was there. She rolled her eyes when she saw him and he did the same. At times like this Sean felt fonder of, and appreciated, Cynthia at least she liked him and was helpful to him unlike this cow

''Oh hello Sean its you again'' Billings said

''Yes hello'' Sean replied

''And what are you here for this time? Come to snatch another of our boy pupils have you?''

''No but i am here to see Mr Andrews''

Billings checked her watch ''Well you know lessons are starting now don't you? He will be with his class now''

''Ok well just tell me where his class is and i'll go and see him there''

Billings was outraged. She was one of those people who liked having something to be offended by and Sean liked giving her something to be offended by

''Well no you can't just interrupt a class you know!'' she complained

''Please its very important i see Graham it really is and i don't have all day to wait around i am sure you can appreciate i will need to get back to Grange Road soon. I really must see Graham now. Be a good girl and cooperate eh?''

Billings sighed and gave Sean the location for Graham's class. She thought it was wrong for Sean to interrupt a class but then again she also wanted him to go away so if she just gave him what he wanted he would go and they would both be happy

Abigail and Carl were in the class with Graham

''Sir what was it like in the army?'' Carl asked. He asked this question every time he saw Graham

''What more can i tell you?'' Graham replied with irritation ''You ask this question every time Carl'' He knew Carl did it to be annoying
