Part 58 - PLAY WITH FIRE

Liam and Sandra were with a social worker

''So i would like to foster Liam until he is 18'' Sandra said ''I already raised 3 sons. I know how to bring up boys and honestly Liam deserves a nice home with a mother who cares about him''

''Yes i see'' the social worker said ''Well i can't see a single reason why you can't foster Liam. You are completely suitable. It's just down to Liam really to confirm he wants to stay with you''

Liam smiled and didn't even hesitate to answer ''I want to stay with Sandra'' he said

''And you are old enough to make that decision now'' the social worker told him ''There will be some forms to fill in. Its all a bit tedious but nothing to worry about. Liam you will be legally fostered by Sandra she will be your guardian until you are 18''

Liam and Sandra were both happy 

After they left the meeting they went to McDonald's for a burger and fries

''I won't bring you here too often'' Sandra said while she ate her cheese burger ''Only sometimes as a treat. I don't want you, or me, eating this garbage too often, tasty though it is, so i will prepare fresh and healthy home cooked meals most evenings''

''Yes i know'' Liam said ''McDonald's is not something i want to eat often, Only once in a while''

''So you are now my foster son!'' Sandra said happily ''I had 3 sons and now i have 4''

''And now i have a proper mother!''

''Has Sean said anything to you since that night when he came to the house?''

''No'' Liam said ''he hasn't spoken to me at all. I don't know what he is thinking. Maybe he's accepted this and let it go''

Sandra was dubious ''I hope so'' she said ''But knowing Sean he probably still hates us both''

''But what can he do about it anyway? Its a legal process we've gone through. Now the law says i can live with you and he can't change it or take me away''

''Yes you're right of course. Its just i don't trust Sean''

Liam and Sandra were back at school later. Liam shared the news with his friends and they teased him playfully

''You are the teachers pet now'' Stephen told him with a cheeky grin

''Shut up'' Liam said with a grin ''Only a home. At school she will treat me the same as every other boy and not favor me''

''Yeah right sure!'' Louis said playfully and he Stephen and Robert teased Liam by chanting teachers pet

Sandra also told Alan and some of the other teachers. But she tried her best to do it quietly as she didn't want Sean hearing and thinking she was gloating. She didn't want to wind Sean up

Sean came in while she was talking about it and she went quiet

''Oh don't stop on my account'' Sean said ''Whatever it was you were talking about i'm sure it was very interesting so lets hear it''

''Well'' Sandra said reluctantly ''I have officially fostered Liam now''

Sean smiled and stayed calm ''Congratulations i am pleased for you both''

''Really?'' Sandra asked and she was nervous of the way Sean was acting as she was sure it bothered him way more than he was showing

''Yes of course. I am pleased that Liam has a proper mother to care for him now. Also it must be nice for you to have another son to care for. I am aware that your eldest boy is already in Uni and the other two are getting older so now you have Liam to look after when they leave home too''
