Lorraine was spending most of her time at Amy's bedside hoping desperately that she would pull through. But while she was doing that Sean was too busy worrying about Sandra and baby Jamie to care much about Amy. The police were trying to investigate who the ''intruders'' were and Inspector Grace was frustrated because he knew there was more to it than he was being told and he still wanted to nail Sean for something but once again he could not nail him. It was driving Grace nuts at this point
The day of the paternity test arrived and Sean was very smug as he was sure he would be the father of Jamie
''As soon as its been proved that i am the father i will apply for custody'' he told Sandra ''And you know i will win because i have my ways of making sure i always win and get what i want. That boy will be mine, my property, just like Matthew before him''
But Sean was in for a shock. The test showed that Alan was the father. Sean was up in arms about it.
''No this can't be so! I'm the father i know i am'' he said ''The test must be wrong!''
''these tests are never wrong!'' he was told by the people at the clinic ''they are 100% accurate''
Now it was Sandra's turn to be smug ''Well it looks like you won't be getting your hands on Jamie, so you can't abuse him destroy his life, like you did to Matthew!'' she said and Sean had nothing to say so he just stormed out in a rage
Next tragedy and heartbreak struck for Lorraine when her daughter died from her injuries
''You killed my sister!'' Owen said angrily
''We've already been through this and we've established it wasn't my fault'' Sean said ''So don't waste our time with all this again Owen''
To Sean's surprise Lorraine didn't rush to defend him this time like she usually did
''Well i know the intruders forced the LSD down your throat'' she told Sean ''But now i am starting to wonder why they did it.I know its really your fault for provoking people Sean''
''But Honey it isn't really''
''yes it is and maybe i should tell Grace the truth and stop protecting you''
''But you can't do that''
''Why not? Amy is dead and why should i carry on lying for you?''
''Because i'm your husband that is why! You must not say anything and do not disobey me ok!''
''I need to think about it'' Lorraine said and Owen was happy that she was finally seeing sense about Sean
''Mum you have to stop lying for him and protecting him'' he told her ''Now Amy is dead you must tell the police what really happened''
''I said i'll think about it'' She snapped ''I don't really know what to do yet''
''You'll have to move out for a while'' she told Sean ''I want a break from you while i decide what to do''
''But honey please where will i stay?''
''Go to a hotel or something''
''Or sleep in a shed'' Owen said sarcastically
''Please Lorraine be sensible'' Sean begged ''There is no need for this''
''Look i just can't look at you right now i need space from you. My little girl is dead and it was you who did it''
''But i didn't mean to i swear''
''I know but i just don't want to see you for a while''
''And will you tell the police the truth?''
