Part 68 - RIOT Part 2

A car arrived fast and a short but fierce looking man with glasses got out and stormed over to Inspector Grace

''I am Mr Douglas the head of the education department and i demand to know what you fellas are doing to end this outrageous riot!'' he demanded and he was in a foul mood

''We are trying to negotiate with the pupils'' Grace explained to Mr Douglas ''However this is proving difficult so far''

''We must bring this riot to an end at once'' Douglas continued ''This is a terrible scandal for the department and we cannot have scandals like this!''

''Well we're trying ok''

''Well you must try harder!''

''Would you like to try talking to the pupils yourself?'' Grace suggested ''As you're the head of the department, and lets be honest its probably your fault this is happening since you gave Lewis permission to buy the school, so you should talk to them and try and end the riot''

For the first time the ill tempered and pompous Mr Douglas was satisfied ''Yes i'll talk to them and i'll end this in a few minutes!'' he said confidently

''Ok go ahead and try then''

Douglas marched over to the doors ''Hello i am the head of the education department and i demand to talk to you boys about this outrage'' he said ''It must be brought to an end immediately!''

''We are quite happy to end this riot'' Liam told him from behind the barricade ''But only after you agree that Mr Lewis will be removed from this school for good and never allowed near a school again''

''Ok you have my word'' Douglas said without hesitation ''He will be removed forever''

''Really? You mean it?''

''yes of course i mean it. Mr Lewis is clearly unfit to remain a headmaster. There have been way too many scandals since he first came here. He will be removed and never allowed near a school again''

Liam and the others felt that Douglas seemed quite genuine about this. He seemed very angry about the whole thing and he was honest enough to admit that there had been a lot of scandals since Sean had been at the school

''So what about the fact that he bought the school?'' Callum asked

''We will simply refund him the money he paid for the school'' Douglas told them ''He will be forced to accept the refund and leave for good. After that he is banned from teaching in schools ever again. You have my word on this'' 

''If you go back on your word then we will boycott this school'' Robert told him ''The school will be empty for good''

''Yes i understand boys''  Douglas said ''Believe me when i say that as soon as you release Sean i will take him for a chat and give him a refund and tell him he is banned from teaching for life''

The boys were satisfied and they did believe Douglas. But they needed more before they could agree to end the riot

''We need your word that we will not be punished for rioting ''Callum said

''That's not down to me'' Douglas told them ''I can only promise that there will be no school punishments. I can't protect you from punishment from the law. You will have to talk to the Inspector about that''

''So bring Grace over now then'' Liam ordered

Douglas went to get Grace and Grace went to speak to the boys and he promised them there would be no punishment for them

''We just want to end this riot now'' he told them ''As long as no one is hurt or killed there will be no consequences''

''No one has been hurt or killed'' Callum said ''We did not want to hurt or kill anyone''
