Part 50 - SERIAL KILLER Part 5

No one was particularly upset about Graham's death not even Sean who had never considered him a friend only a useful colleague

But the murder of Graham caused more panic and uncertainty for everyone. Now everyone was wondering who could be next

''The killer has killed 4 times now'' Stephen said to Liam and Robert while they were hanging out together ''Something has to be done to catch them fast otherwise any of us could be next''

''Yes i sure hope this killer is caught soon'' Robert said ''I am very scared and spooked by this''

''I think we all are'' Liam said ''Even Sean''

The man who attacked Louis was back at the hospital to see Louis. His intention was to kill him but he did not know that Louis had woken up and he was very alarmed when he saw him awake

''Oh'' he said and was trying not to panic   

Louis looked at the man ''Hi who are you?'' he said

The man was confused ''You don't recognize me?''   

''No and should i?'' Louis's amnesia was genuine and he really didn't recognize or remember the man who tried to kill him ''I don't think we've met before have we?''

''Erm'' the man was very confused and unsure what to say

''Well i think maybe i got the wrong person'' he said and left in a hurry

Louis watched him go and was very unsettled about it. In the back of his mind he had this faint idea that he had seen the man somewhere before but he could not place him

The man approached a nurse in the corridor

''Nurse can i ask you something please?'' he said

''yes go on?'' she said

''That boy, Louis, in the room over there.He broke into my house and fell from the window. I went to see him to see how he is and he didn't remember me? How can that be possible?''

''Well you see Louis appears to have amnesia. Not total amnesia. He still remembers who he is and his life but he doesn't remember anything that happened immediately before and during the events that led to his injury. Some people develop that sort of amnesia after a traumatic event''    

''I see'' the man said with happiness and relief

Later he was back with the woman

''So i don't need to kill Louis now'' he told her ''The boy has amnesia and can't remember what happened''

''Ok and did you ask them if this is something that is permanent or can the person eventually regain their memory?''

''Oh no i didn't ask them that''

''Idiot! So for all we know the boy could eventually remember again?''

''Maybe i don't know''

The woman was wound up ''So we still have to kill him then!''

The man was agitated ''Look he is awake now and how am i supposed to do it now?''

''Well you have to. He could ruin the whole plan if he remembers what happened''

''If he remembers we can just say he is lying'' the man said ''Our word against his. We'll just stick to our story that he broke in and fell from the window trying to escape and say he is lying to try and get himself off the hook. There is no way the police will see a link between Louis and the others. Once we finish carrying out our plan there will be nothing to link any of it to us or to what happened with Louis. Louis will be the lucky one that got away that is all and if he remembers what happened then so what? We'll just say he is lying''
