"Galit ka ba sa'kin?"
I looked at Linken before answering his obvious question. "What do you think?"
"I know you want to kill me," he chuckled.
After Lynpen and I broke up, Linken reached out to me to check if I was doing well. I wasn't responding to any of his texts or calls, so he went to Meril's house. That's when he found me rotting in bed like a lifeless animal. The exact reason why he started worrying about me again.
I feel lost, betrayed, and alone that time. All I wanted to do was see her, but I couldn't.She chose him. And she didn't seem to care about me. Not even a little.
She traumatized me.
I will never forget how stupid and weak I've become because of her. I couldn't get up in my own bed. Even taking a bath and brushing my teeth were impossible for me to do.
It's an endless cycle.
I was placed in therapy because of Meril. She said she'd bring me to rehab if he did not talk. She even accused me of using drugs.
He's the only person with whom I can talk freely since he knows exactly what I've been through. He's a good friend and the one responsible for my continued sanity.
"Honestly, I envy your relationship with each other. It's been decades, yet the two of you are still together. Not everyone has that."
I sighed.
"Now that I mentioned that, bagay na bagay talaga kayo sa isat-isa, ano? Lynpen's a great professor in college, and Van's part of the most famous band in our country. Walang kapintas-pintas sa relasyon niyong dalawa."
I mentally rolled my eyes as I started pouring wine into my glass after I drank the first one."Can I take a picture with you later, Van? My daughter is a big fan of you."
Grabe, you're really full of surprises, Miss President."
Right. And I feel like exploding right now.
They're like an obsessed fans.
I sighed again.
"Sab, may problema ba?"
I quickly looked up after hearing my name mentioned. They were all looking at me now."Huh?"
"Kanina ka pa bumubuntong hininga, bro. Okay ka lang ba?" Tumawa si Rainier. "Siguro iniisip mo si Heather? Ayieee! Makikipag-balikan na 'yan mamaya!"
"Hey, don't be insensitive, Rainier." Sinuway siya nung katabi niyang babae kaya napalingon ako rito. Her face's familiar, but I can't remember her fully.
"It's fine." I don't want to be in the center of attention.
"Sabrina, you're friends with this couple, right?" I think her name's Dalia.
"Yeah." I gave her a simple nod when she pointed at the two clowns in front of me.
Lynpen and I gazed at each other. I almost rolled my eyes when I saw her looking at me like some kind of innocent child lost in the forest. Staring at her face makes me want to get violent. I can feel nothing but hatred.
"Seeing how their feelings grow surely makes you proud. You've been there from the beginning until now. What can you say about their relationship?"
I pressed my lips together.
