CHAPTER 58: Still Her

"SABRINA FUERTES just landed 1080 in the mega ramp! How come she had that courage to do that considering how-woah! A 1080 again?! This is mind-blowing! Tony Hawk will definitely praise her if he's seeing this right now. I can still remember how he-wait a damn minute! She's planning for a third one?!"

Diniin ko ang tapak sa skateboard habang papalapit nang papalapit sa dulo. Malakas ang hangin, pero hindi ito sapat para mapatigil ako. Yumuko ako para bumwelo, hinawakan ko ang katawan ng skateboard bago tuluyang umikot sa ere.

"Are you kidding me?! She really did it! Three 1080 in a row is unbelievable!" The commentator exclaimed. "I cannot believe what I'm seeing right now! Buddy! Go call for 911 'cause it's burning out here! I can feel the heat!"

Tinulak ko ang skateboard at pinadausdos ang tuhod para makahinto. I removed the helmet I was wearing, aggressively stood up, and hit my own chest as I screamed. Para akong mabibingi sa lakas ng sigawan ng mga tao.

"Back to back to back 1080 on the mega ramp is insane! And the fact that she could walk after three in a row is impressive itself! This will definitely make history!"

Dinumog ako nila coach habang tumatalon. Hindi ko napigilang tumawa nang buhatin nila ako at ibato sa ere.

"Sabrina Fuertes is bombing a mega ramp at her young age! Men! I can't even stand on a skateboard, and she's out here doing 1080 three times in a row in a freaking COMPETITION! Can you imagine that?!"

Napaluhod ako sa sahig nang maramdaman ang panghihina ng tuhod. Yesha repeatedly hit my shoulder while smiling broadly. I can say the same thing to coach; his expression says it all: he cannot believe what just happened.

Sobrang laki ng ngiti ko habang naririnig ang palakpak ng mga tao. Hindi rin nakatakas sa'kin ang pagbuhos ng luha ni coach nang ibigay na ang golden trophy sa'kin.

Nagpunta ako sa pwesto niya at hinila siya. I wouldn't just let him stand up from his seat, I want him beside me! I pointed a finger at him and grinned at the camera while we're both holding the golden trophy.

Later on, the media started interviewing me, holding the mic in front of my mouth.

"The people were shocked and surprised with your amazing moves. They love how effortlessly you did it, and we all know succeeding in doing 1080 three times in a row needs a lot of courage. H-How did you come up with the idea of, oh, I'll do it. I'll do it right now. I want to do it. Without being scared of the possibilities that might happen? Mega ramp can be dangerous, a tiny error can be amplified due to the speed and force. Do you perhaps have someone right now that is making your heart brave?"

Tumaas ang kilay ko dahil sa biglang liko ng tanong. Angas ng transportation mo boi.

Nonetheless, I answered it professionally.

"Your fans are getting wild, all the support, all the hype that you are receiving right now. What can you say about it?"

"Honestly, it's amazing. I appreciate all of it. Thanks for the endless support." Ngumiti ako sa camera.

"They also mentioned how much they loved your new haircut. Actually, they're fascinated with it. They said you look great in red. Are you aware of that?"
