I really don't think i'd be here without you. (Mary Earps)

You were beyond proud of mary, she had gone through so much stuff in the past. She deserved winning this, obviously she was your girlfriend and in your eyes she was the best at anything she did. But deep down in your heart, you knew stuff the public didn't, she really did deserve this.

Your eyes followed your girlfriend as she made her way up on stage, for some reason you felt a little nervous. But overall you were more proud than anything. Mary took her award and turned to the audience, you looked around and noticed some of her people. Beth, Lucy, and Sarina were in the audience with you. 

Even they looked proud of her, you looked back over to mary up on stage. She was shocked, you could tell by how she looked at you. 

"I don't really...I don't really know what to say um..." mary paused for a second and smiled down at her award.

"Thank you to everyone who voted for me, I feel really honored to be...holding this really heavy trophy..." mary smiled and held the trophy in her arm. You smiled at her and waited to hear the rest of her speech. "I just want to say thank you so much to my loved ones. Who have picked me up of the kitchen floor to be here today." mary smiled at the audience. 

"Not specifically tonight but a few years ago." mary's smiled disappeared for a second, yours did too but this was a happy moment. You didn't want to be sad in front of her especially after she won an award. You smiled again."Thank you so much to all of my teammates without this just wouldn't be possible." you looked back at beth and lucy in the crowd, spread out from each other. They looked so proud, admiration spread over their faces. Lucy turned to looked at you, she sent you a smile and then looked back at mary. 

"The coaching staff at Man United and...England but particularly Ian Willcock and Darren Wood who i'm pretty sure deserve a trophy of their own for putting up with me every single day, because that isn't easy. Sarina.." mary took a deep breath and looked at sarina in the crowd.  "I've run out of words to say, thanks to you for the opportunity you've given me to chase my wildest dreams and for believing in me the way you have." mary thanked sarina. 

"And lastly, Y/n..." mary turned to look at you. You felt your heart stop the second your name fell from her lips, you didn't think she would address you particularly like how she did with sarina and the coaching staff. "You've put up with me for a long time, you've been there for me when i needed someone. That really means the world to me, you've helped me when i needed it, you are one of the most important people in my life. I really don't think i'd be here without you." mary looked at you and smiled before looking at the crowd again.

If you were at home, watching this on the tv, you would've been sobbing right now but you knew the camera was probably on you since she directly addressed you. But you had to put a smile on for the people, you smile and nodded at mary before she continued her speech.

"This is for...anyone who's ever been in a dark place just know that there's light at the end of the tunnel, keep going. You can achieve anything that you set your mind to. Sometimes success looks like this collecting trophies, sometimes it's just waking up and putting one step in front of the other. There's only one of you in the world and that's more than good enough, be unapologetically yourself, thank you everyone." mary finished her speech. 

Mary stepped back a little and the crowd clapped for her, you clapped your hands together and smiled at the sight of seeing her up there with the award in her hands.
