A little angsty, BECAUSE OF TODAYS PERFORMANCE. 🧍🏻‍♀️

_______________

It had been a very quiet evening, you had been resting from the match earlier that day. You hadn't seen leah that much around the house, the last you saw of her was when she got out of the shower. You knew she always liked some peace and quiet after matches, unless it was a huge win then it was the complete opposite. But after today's loss, even you needed some time to yourself.

You were disappointed, you knew something was going on with the way you were playing as a team. Some of the girls played good, then there were others that didn't put in as much effort. Even you realized it as a player.

You, yourself weren't at your best.

Neither was Leah.

"Hey..." you knocked on the bedroom door, slowly opening it and walking in. Leah was laying in bed, in her usual spot. "I made dinner...your plate is on the table.." you smiled at leah, you knew food always made her feel better even if it was plain.

"I'm not hungry." leah said, not even looking at you. Her attention was on the tv, she had been watching some football match. You scoffed and crossed your arms. "Leah, you haven't eaten since the morning...and it's...." you looked down at your apple watch. "It's 7..." you looked over at leah, hoping she'd change her mind.

"I sad i'm not hungry." leah snapped at you, her tone obviously different than usual.

"Okay, you know what...just because we lost and played like shit today doesn't mean you don't deserve to eat. Come have dinner with me." you stepped closer to the bed.

"It's not just the fact that we played like shit today y/n, we've been playing like this for weeks now...all the fans- they come and support us and we play like this, they don't deserve that. My club doesn't deserve that." leah sat up and looked at you.

"Leah don't you think i know that?" i put my hand over my chest.

"Then maybe start playing better." she said, her voice a tad louder.

You were taken back, all the frustration from todays game built up in you wanted to come out.

"Me?" you said in disbelief.

"Yeah, you. You know, when i pass you the ball you're supposed to run and pass it to one of the girls...not stand there looking clueless." leah scoffed, crossing her arms as she looked at you.

"I'm sorry, i know you're not talking to me about being clueless. During the first half you practically gave the ball away- and you allowed them to score all because you weren't even trying." you fought back.

"So this is all my fault?" leah rolled her eyes in disbelief.

"I didn't say that... i meant, we're all not playing like we used to...it's nobodies fault..." you sighed and placed your hands over your face trying to calm yourself down. "Leah, please just have dinner with me...i can't be okay knowing you haven't eaten all day..." you sad looking up at her.

"I said i'm not hungry, put that food away i'm not eating it." she laid back down in bed.

You sighed and walked towards the door, you didn't want to infuriate her more or say things you didn't mean.

______________

A few hours pass by, you began to get drowsy and you watched tv in the living room. You walked over into the bedroom, quietly in case leah was sleeping already.  When you walked in, her head turned to look at you, but quickly looked at her phone again. You looked down in disappointment and walked over to your side of the bed.

You pulled the covers away and grabbed a pillow, dragging it to the end of the bed as you turned around opening a drawer. You pulled a blanket out of the drawer and turned around to grab the pillow with your other hand. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw leah sit up in bed. Her head following you as you walked across the room towards the door.

You heard a loud sigh come from Leah, you ignored it and kept walking towards the bedroom door.

"Where are you going?" leah said from the bed.

You turned to look at her, holding the blanket and pillow. "I'm tired...i'm going to sleep." you said trying to turn back around.

"In the backyard?" leah said.

You turned to take a look at leah, she gave you a little bit of a smile. Her tone much different than earlier.

"I'm sleeping on the couch." you told her, giving her a serious look.

"No, you're not." leah told you, her smile slightly fading away.

"Yes, I am." you nodded.

"No, you're not- come on..." leah pulled the covers away from your spot in the bed. "Get in." she said.

You sighed. "Leah, i don't-"

"Y/n, get in bed, now." leah raised her eyebrows, her patience growing thin.

You groaned and walked over to the bed, placing the blanket at the foot of the bed and placing your pillow where it belonged. You crawled into bed hesitantly, and looked at leah as she pulled the covers over your legs. She gave you an apologetic look before speaking. "I didn't mean to put the blame on you..." she said.

"I know..." you looked at her, reassuring her.

"I was just frustrated, and with the way we've been playing...it just didn't help that we lost today." leah looked down at the bed sheets, avoiding eye contact.

"It's fine, you're not the only one that's frustrated...i bet the whole team is...we've been literal shit these past few weeks." you said, trying to reassure her. "I didn't mean to blame you either leah, i just felt attacked- and i wanted to defend myself-" you tried to explain yourself.

"No, it's all good...i know i haven't been playing my best..." leah nodded and looked down, clearly disappointed with herself.

"It's not just you, it's a lot of us...but we'll come back from this okay? This should fuel us to do better." you said, placing your hand over hers.

"I know..." leah looked up at you, giving you a warm smile.
