I have to repay you somehow (Leah Williamson)

Your fire truck had just gotten there, you had gotten out so fast and ready to spring into action. You saw some of your fellow firefighters come out of the burning building holding some people. You looked up at began to see parts of the building falling due to the fire, you turned your head as you heard someone screaming. 

"Go in there- she's in there! Leah is in there!" a blond yelled. You nodded and were ready to go in, but someone stopped you. "We can't..." Joe said. Joe was the head of the fire department, whatever he said goes. "What- someone's still in there.." you said looking around, nobody else was going in they were busy taking care of the people they just brought out.

"That building could crumble down into shambles if you go in, it's not safe." he said in a stern voice. "I have a tank-" you tried to reason. "No, i said no." joe said. 

"I'm going." you said and ran into the burning building, you heard joe call your name but once you entered the building it was as if your mind went blank. You had no idea where to go, if you didn't have that fire suit on, your skin would've probably melted off. You tried to focus on why you ran in there. Leah. That's what the blond girl outside said, leah is in here.

"Leah?!" you tried calling out. You kept walking in closer and looking around for any sign of someone being in there. "Leah?!" you called out a second time. You whipped your head so fast, you heard coughing. You ran towards the sound and saw a girl sitting down on the ground, covering her face with her shirt. "Let's go! We have to go now!" you helped her stand up, she felt so weak. You threw one of her arms around your neck and walked her over to the door. 

Joe was waiting for you, she grabbed leah's other arm and helped you walk her over to the medics. You saw that leah was being taken care of, so you stepped away for a second. You looked over at the building, they were trying to put the fire out with water but it wasn't gonna make it. There was too much damage to it. 

"Why did you do that?" you heard joe ask from behind you. 

"Is she okay?" you asked, pushing his question to the side. "She's gonna be fine, you saved her." he said. "Okay..." you nodded and took your hat off. You took deep breaths and looked at joe. "Look, i'm sorry, i shouldn't have ran in there...but she was gonna die if i didn't...you should've seen how i found her-" you tried explaining yourself.

"It's fine." joe nodded at you. "You did the right thing...putting your life on the line to help others." joe said. You blinked up at him. "I'm proud of how far you've come." joe said, he patted your shoulder before walking off. 

"Y/n!" you heard your name being called, you followed the sound and walked over to one of the ambulances. 

"Yeah?" you asked seeing your friend, Macy, looking for you. "There you are...we have someone that wants to talk to you." she turned her head to leah, the girl you had just saved a few minutes ago. "Hi." you said looking at her as well.

"I'm gonna go get more bandages." macy said as she walked away. 

"Uh- Hey- Hello, i just..." she coughed. "I wanted to say thank you...really...you quite literally saved my life." leah said. "That's- it's not problem, it's my job..." you said staring into her bright blue eyes. Leah looked down then up at the burning building, you looked at it as well. 

"Did you work here?" you. asked, leah turned to you. "Uh- Yeah, well i played here...i'm a football player." she said. "Oh..." you nodded, you felt this feeling in your stomach. She really liked keeping eye contact. "I'm sorry...do you know how the fire might've started." you said stepping closer to her. 

"I have no idea, i left to go to the bathroom for a second then i came back out...there was no one just smoke...i tried looking for my friend beth..." leah began looking around. "I think i know where she is.." you smiled. "Is she-" leah began asking. "She's okay." you said.

"She's the one who told me your name." you said. 

"Yeah- i was beginning to think i was hallucinating when i heard you calling my name." leah laughed a little. You laughed and nodded your head. "Yeah she was just screaming it..." you smiled. 

"How are you feeling?" you asked her. "I'm feeling fine, but i'm sure they'll be sending me to the hospital to make sure 100%" leah said looking at the rest of the ambulances. 

"Yeah, you're not getting out of that one. They just want to make sure you're okay, it'll be quick" you reassured her. Leah nodded and smiled. "Do you think i'll be out by this saturday?" she asked you. "I think so, most likely, why? Do you have a game?" you asked. 

"No, i want to take you out." she said.

It caught you by surprise.

"What?" you asked. "As a gesture...as a thank you for literally saving me. I have to repay you somehow." leah said. You smiled and looked down at your helmet you were holding in your hands. 

"Are you free this saturday?" she asked you.

"Lucky you, it's my day off." you said.

"Perfect then."
