ALORA

"What did you say?" I asked him again, trying to process the word that he said or you can say that I am figuring his intentions behind what he said.

Because at this point after finding out about my history and my motive, and most importantly - after he betrayed me that way from taking my revenge by myself, what he is saying to me doesn't make any sense.

Or it does.

Standing in the middle of his study while he is twirling his pen in between his fingers, I intensely stared at his face carefully to find any sign of a joke but it seems he is very serious right now.

And anyway, he doesn't joke at all so this means he is not joking. While seated on his chair, he parted his lips to say something but then paused and decided to walk over to me and stood right before me.

"You heard me right. I am giving you a chance to destroy your actual enemy's goods."

Right. My actual enemy. The real type of enemy, Domenico. And not the fun type of enemy I have made like Enzo.

He is giving me a chance to help him with destroying Domenico's drugs containers which will cause him a great loss. Though he said that he will be there with me too, the main work will be done by me.

I will do the work. On my own.

"But you have to trust me." Not going to happen again. I don't make the same mistake twice.

I am thankful to Enzo that he is thinking about my revenge but still I have a question about his purpose.

What does he exactly want or what will he get by my revenge?

Okay. I know that causing problems in Domenico's business will be an achievement to him too- because they are also not on good terms. Obviously. In fact they are also on the battlefield like I am.

"Then let's say you're in." He snapped, and I looked up to see his lips formed into a genuine smile.

Doubtful. Very doubtful.

After hesitating whether I should ask him the question or not, I made up my mind to ask anyway. "Enzo, what will you get from this?"

Because, last time he didn't let me come with him and this time he asked me to come with him- if I say it correctly- he is giving me an offer. Something definitely doesn't seem right here.

"You really want to know?" He asked, taking a step forward as he gave me a light chuckle.

With a step backward, I let my voice come out and replied, "Tell me."

We are again playing the game of one step ahead, one step back. And again with every step closer, my heart is beating fast, so fast that I am having problems with my legs to stand still and not fall.

I am probably, or obviously not talking about falling on the floor.

And I also know for a fact that if I fall, he will be the happiest. My heart is giving me too many hints after hints but my mind is ignoring them all and keeping me hidden from them so that I don't realise the things.

Things that are happening with me. Happening between us.

He cleared his throat and I realised that I have been looking at him. In a blink, a pair of strong arms wrapped around me and pulled me even closer to his body which made my tiny body bumped into his.

I couldn't breathe.

I tried to lean backwards even though I was in his cage, my eyes widened at how close his face was to mine. This is turning out to be some serious case. And apparently, there's nothing good I can see in that.
